Hoovering the floor

I was six when my grandmother asked me to hoover the floor for the first time. “You live here, you help,” she said. It was fun to play slurp, but then Grandma told me I had to clean the house, and it wasn’t fun.

The only way to make it fun is to do it naked for your girlfriend, but I don’t recommend playing slurp in that context.

Going to work meetings

I don’t think I ever attended a work meeting that was so interesting I would have gone there for free. Being paid is the only upside of work meetings. And more often than not, it’s not enough up the side.

At my current company, it seems everybody read the bible on how to make meetings worse because it’s horrible.

Ironing clothes

I was seven when my grandmother asked me to iron for the first time. It was my fault, and it taught me to curb my expectations. One morning, I complained because my underwear was all crumpled. My grandfather chuckled.

He knew what was coming.
