If you study or work in food and food retail, as I do, you see a correlation between what we accept and do in a restaurant and our society’s social norms.

For example, our laziness shows in the growth of home delivery. Or the misguided view that cooking from scratch is too complicated or takes too long, so we Door-Dash a meal … perhaps for just a milkshake (as my daughter does). This leaves us oodles of time to do nothing except doom scroll on social media.

Politicians wonder why voting percentages are plummeting. If we don’t have time to feed ourselves, how can we expect them to get up and vote?

When we perfect voting from bed, percentages will climb markedly. Uvebruce

Restaurants deal with politics, religion, culture, and sexual orientation as part of the fabric of their existence. I cannot think of another business that ticks every box in business, in real time, as well as a restaurant does.
