Introducing PIVX Toolbox V3 (Layman’s Changelog) by PIVX Core member, PalmTree.

Hello, Welcome to Version 3 of the PIVX Toolbox.

First, lets look at some of the more notable changes:

  • Unified styling on ALL pages (result pages now look similar to form and home pages)
  • Even more mobile friendly compared to previous version
  • Simpler user experience throughout the site
  • Completely re-written front end utilizing the latest Bootstrap 5.3.x
  • Removed jQuery dependency
  • True PIVX address detection and verification (previous version was pretty janky)
  • Exchange addresses now fully supported
  • Added hover animations and tooltips throughout site
  • Themed language dropdown
  • Simpler, faster, more modern looking navigation menu
  • Webkit (Chrome based browsers) now have purple themed scroll-bars
  • Reduced codebase contributes to an overall faster performance
  • More noticeable errors and alerts
  • Higher contrast button colors for better accessability

It’s crazy but the current iteration of the PIVX Toolbox (I’m calling it version 2) has been around for almost 4 years with almost 100% uptime working tirelessly and reliably helping PIVX users. If memory serves, version 1 was made in collaboration with Zenzo. While it was a start, it under-delivered in almost every way. Here’s an old screenshot comparing V2 to V1 for those that don’t remember:

A Few Before and After Pictures For Comparison:

V2-V3 performance comparison. A reduced code-base contributes to an overall performance increase.

My Transactions, simplified and easier to read. All pages (home, form, result) now have a similar theme with rounded and centered icon on top and similar backgrounds. Much less confusing. Also added is a permalink button so users can bookmark their addresses.

Masternode Status Check has similar improvements. Much easier to decipher results. Like the Transactions page, a permalink button is added so users can bookmark their Masternode status.

Rewards Estimator is simplified with a single toggle to include Masternodes. Notice the better contrast buttons.

All help sections boast significantly improved formatting and readability, for example this Snapshots help screen.

Themed language drop-down navigation with auto drop-down on large screens

Simpler navigation menu along with more modern looking hamburger and language buttons (removed backgrounds and borders)

Better errors and alerts, also notice the proper handling of PIVX addresses.

All modals (pop up boxes) have improved contrast for better visibility

Unified theme example, home, form, and result pages look similar.

Conclusion

Almost every file has been modified. Some slightly, others completely replaced. Also note that NO DAO funds have been used to create this Masterpiece (well, maybe not a Masterpiece but definitely better than before). Is there room for improvement? ABSOLUTELY! But in this case, you get more than you paid for.

Enjoy, Palm Tree
