Licensed video games have long been one of the gaming industry’s most glaring deficiencies. However, with the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man exclusively for the Playstation 4, many conversations have arisen due to the game’s astounding critical acclaim and financial success.

“I never thought this could happen, nobody predicted this,” says one anonymous studio executive, “It turns out that, this whole time, the secret formula was to give properties to talented studios and give them time.”

“We never considered it: Making a game that’s good can be a far more lucrative investment than making a bad game.” says Leonard J. Newman, a spokesperson for Activision that promises his initials are not indicative of anything at all and are just a coincidence.

The gaming industry now sits at a standstill, pondering what their next move should be after these shocking developments.
