Featured partner: Unbabel
We’d like you to get to know our partners for Pixel Camp, and this will be the first of a series of posts we’ll be doing to explain who they are and why we’re thrilled to work with them.
In each post, you will learn about the partner, their mission, how they’re involved in the event and the challenges they have for you. That way, you can consider tackling those challenges as part of your Pixels Camp project — the better the match, the more awesome (and valuable) those already intense three days will be.
Meet Unbabel
Unbabel leverages Artificial Intelligence to empower a community of over 40.000 translators worldwide, increasing the speed and reliability of delivering human-grade translations and dramatically reducing translation costs. In a world where the Internet’s global reach is shaped by the emergence of multiple language-centric internets, Unbabel plays a crucial role in extending the global reach of businesses worldwide.
To achieve this goal, Unbabel created APIs that can power apps and services globally and make them multilingual in a seamless way, removing friction and confusion in multilingual environments while retaining the unique flavor of human translation.
Taking up the challenge
The Pixels Camp community can play their part in this endeavour by implementing and augmenting new or existing services with multilingual capabilities enabled by the Unbabel APIs.
Every Pixels Camp participant will receive a free Unbabel API by mail soon, theirs to use and build upon for the contest and afterwards.
Unbabel wants you to come up with apps and integrations that you yourself can build great ideas on.
Furthermore, their team will have a booth in the venue and will be ready to coach and help you in any that’s needed.
Unbabel has a couple of talks in the calendar too, you might want to check them out:
- Unbabel AI Powered Human Translation, by João Graça
- Unbabel API: Enabling Multilingual Conversations, by Paulo Dimas
Looking forward to your projects. Hint: As usual, there will be prizes waiting for you on Saturday.
