An office is no longer just a place to work — a well-thought out and designed space is not just a fashion, but also a condition for attracting and retaining valuable employees.

For the SoftServe Management Board, it was clear from the start that the company’s Wroclaw office does not only have to be functional, it has to become part of the company’s identity and ensure that the employees feel comfortable there.

The office is dominated by flat design — a very popular trend in the IT sector

The company’s Wroclaw headquarters are located at al. Wiśniowa, where SoftServe employs close to 130 people. The office with an area of 2,000 m2 underwent a major transformation, reflecting the latest trends in the industry, and now recounts the company’s history through its design. One of the key elements of the visual changes was the use of around 150 m² of material designed by graphic designers from Pixers Business.

The mural in the hallway recounts the company’s story through design

‘The company’s main headquarters located in Lviv, provided us with inspiration. In Wroclaw, we tried to adapt to the standards applied there, and even go beyond them,’ says Agata Mostowicz Office Manager at SoftServe.

The three floor tall wall mural in the building’s main hall plays the main role in the entire project. It ideally enlivens the classic office interiors and also emphasizes the company’s values, referring to its international nature.

‘With an area of 60 m², the wall in the main hall was a real challenge for us, as the poster had to link the color scheme of each floor together. We additionally wanted to present the characteristic architectural structures from city-headquarters, in which the remaining offices operate, namely: Lviv, Austin and of course, Wroclaw,’ explains Maciej Kalita, Area Sales Manager at Pixers Business.

Graphic designers fro Pixers Business received pretty much a free hand in designing the mural and, as a result, paintings full of vivid colors and matching all the respective departments were created, this way making the employees’ time at work more enjoyable.

The mural not only emphasizes the company’s 24 year tradition, its main area of expertise, i.e. services in the scope of IT solutions, but also the fact that in the contemporary world there are no boundaries for enterprises, and cooperation between people from various places on the globe is by no means utopia.

Flat design refers to the graphic interfaces of a user, i.e. an icon in our computers or our smart phones

‘For the project, we firstly used elements of flat design — this is a very popular trend in the IT sector, as it refers to the graphic interfaces of a user, i.e. an icon in our computers or our smart phones,’ says Adam Strzelczyk, author of the poster.

This is a style which is based on a multi-layer composition of simple shapes and vivid colors, for this reason technological elements referring to the specifics of the company can be interwoven within.

While arranging the office at al. Wiśniowa, the Soft-Serve board was guided by the idea that the workplace should be designed with the employees, the type of work they perform, as well as their needs and requirements in mind.

‘Motivated, effective, creative employees who additionally feel connected with their own team and the entire company are the dream of every organization and this is why we are trying to create the best conditions for them at SoftServe,’ explains Agata Mostowicz.

The kitchen also gained new look

‘The final effect of the change is very interesting and I think that the office, despite its age, has taken on a new charm thanks to our graphic artists and perfectly corresponds with the modern furniture and the company’s personality,’ Maciej Kalita summarizes.
