TC Sessions: Mobility 2019, what to be expected: A superb lineup of speakers from Waymo, Uber and Argo AI etc.? Insights into mobility’s biggest challenges? A glimpse into micromobility? NextGen EV business models? Smart city and urban mobility? Let’s take a tour back and go through the full-blast day from the lens of PIX Moving.

On 10 July PIX had a disruptive day at the TC mobility 2019, led by a core team composed of Sean Zhu, Matteo Barale and Idan Beck, our special guest. TC Mobility 2019 was the perfect opportunity to introduce our vision, mission and the progress achieved in recent months, also unveil to the like-minded groups the founding values at the base of PIX. We aim for something higher, beyond the comfort zone. With this spirit of initiative, we participated and became part of TC Mobility, for the very first time.

TC Sessions: Mobility is a Must!

Probably no technology category has invoked a wider spectrum of emerging technologies to provide results that touch more lives. Mobility is still the Wild West in every way. Very little is regulated on the technological or commercial front. What is the true autonomy of the vehicle, for example, and when will we have it?

At the TC Sessions Mobility, we met participants like Waymo CTO Dmitri Dolgov, co-founder of Zoox Jesse Levinson and Lia Theodosiou-Pisanelli of Aurora and Nuro, all discussed on various topics, from autonomy to VC investment trends, from micromobility to mobility-first design city, from security to the protection of everything around us.

20 start-ups from around the world have shown their products, but PIX was the only one with a mixture of HW and SW, which arose enormous interest from a great many of event attendees.

The Agenda of TC Sessions

Mobility is full of startups and giants in the technology sector. TechCrunch has brought together some of the best and brightest minds working on autonomous vehicle technology, micro-mobility and electric vehicles. Mobility presented a programming day with the founders, investors and technologists who are determined to invent a future that Henry Ford would never have imagined. Mobility aims to do more than highlighting the next novelty. They have delved into how and why, into the costs and impact on cities, people and businesses, as well as the numerous challenges that arise along the way, from technological and regulatory pressures to capital and consumer pressures.

We had the chance to keep up with ABB, AAA, the merchant fleet, Waymo and many others.

And what a place!
Apple chose the California Theater for most product announcements. On October 23, 2004, Apple introduced the iPad, which started a new product era.

Just a year later, the California Theater witnessed the return of Steve Jobs to present the company’s first iPod: a tool capable of offering video playback, as well as launching television programs for purchase on iTunes. The Theater was the great leco of the sentence that Jobs declared for the presentation of his new product:
“We think it’s the first step of something big.”
With these words in mind we will move on to our next big thing!

Feedback and Experience

The TC network and the ecosystem were fantastic and we had the chance to talk to big companies and innovation centers. Everyone was strongly impressed by PIX progress, the autonomous chassis we’re developing and the multi-functional pods upon the chassis lead to enormous mobility-as-a-service possibilities. This enthusiasm, feedback and curiosity on the part of our interlocutors have allowed us to further strengthened our passion, believing more in what we do. The synthesis in a slogan of this TC is that in order to differentiate themselves, to emerge in the competitive context it is necessary to offer people what they cannot imagine within their comfort zone, they must be unique and different from many points of view, maintaining the own professionalism and the acquisition of transparency towards customers.
Furthermore, 3 interesting topics emerged concerning the areas of new design, production and mobility.

In particular:
● generative design approach, which envisaged a new way of approaching design; no longer concentrating on the final solution, but starting from the analysis of the initial problems

● large-scale 3D printing, imagining a delocalized microfactory

● bring the interchangeability between design and production, allowing changes in the automotive paradigm and bringing a new idea of mobility
