With the nature of the economic landscape changing to concentrated infrastructure and market fragmentation at the same time, value-creating service systems of interconnected entities, including individuals, are emerging where participants render their competency i.e. service to co-produce value propositions and co-create value.

These systems facilitate a configuration of entities and interactions that fulfill a shared purpose between the demand-side and supply-side in large and niche markets. In turn, new business models can be created that connect user interactions — actions, reactions, and transactions — with the overall purpose of the platform. The overall purpose of Placement Loop is to improve the pursuit of worker well-being to improve economic productivity.

The knowledge to design, develop, deliver, manage, and grow such service systems crosses functional and disciplinary boundaries and challenges industrial era assumptions and knowledge. The new knowledge is social, experiential, technical, and economic all at once and more fundamentally, disrupts from goods-dominant logic to service-dominant logic concepts — from reductionistic science towards systems science.

If you are a leader or investor in the human capital resources space and you don’t understand these emerging systems your risk is far-reaching. We believe that service systems knowledge is the transdisciplinary domain to build stuff that improves the pursuit of well-being for workers.
