Photo 1: A pigeon with a ring of bright purple feathers around its neck perches on a chain link fence that separates dirt from concrete, completely unfazed.

Photo 2: NYU students gather around the fountain on a sunny day, enjoying the mist of water that sprinkles over them. One young woman reads a book while a couple converses and a man studies his iPhone.

Photo 3: Folk street band Coyote and Crow perform with their banjos and kick-drum near the entrance of the park. The duo fills the air with spunk.

Photo 4: Selfie stick in hand, a teenage girl shines an enormous bright smile after hugging and taking a photo with the “FREE HUGS” guy that often hangs around the park.

Photo 5: A little boy greets two canine companions as his mother and the dogs’ owner watch and urge him to pet them.

Photo 6: Two friends playfully wrestle for a phone across the street, while a man rides a bike, a woman pushes a stroller and a grandma scolds her grandson outside of the park.

Photo 7: A bright orange skull sticker hugs a post near a drain on University Place.

Photo 8: The infamous Washington Arch towers over visitors, standing triumphantly in its place.

Photo 9: An Asian mother takes a selfie with her twin daughters as they sit on the outer ring of the fountain. The girls’ shirts read, “Think happy thoughts.”

Photo 10: A woman in her early twenties sits on the edge of a bench in the park with her legs and arms crossed. She speaks with her friend on the phone about her busy schedule.

Photo 11: As a crowd gathers by the Washington Arch to watch a two-man band perform, one man takes out his iPad and begins recording.

Photo 12: A toddler looks up and smiles at his mother before climbing up on the park bench and jumping off of it into his mother’s arms — a tradition the pair recently began.

Photo 13: A sticker with a symbol similar to the Eye of Horus is taped onto a circuit box near the back of the park. The eye is a symbol of protection and good health.

Photo 14: New York University’s infamous violet and white flag hangs over Waverly Place. The flag is one of many that watch over the Greenwich Village campus.

Photo 15: A woman in all white walks across a path leading into the park. The blurred motion makes her figure appear ghostly.
