My Dark Star

Brewing in the cold corner
That I call space
I hunger, consume and disgorge
Children of light en masse
Dancing with grotesque grace
Awaiting my identity to pass
I fear my personal
Oblivion does arrive
I wish to be wanted
Warmer, sweeter, familiar farewell
But my failing humors contrive
Spectral forms my core to dwell
Dark Star! I seem to fail beyond
My dwelling, my place in space
I hope you hear my prayer
Gift me your soothing ember
Become I a dark star in your frantic embrace
So some may awe and remember
