Community Update 12.10.24 — Racer Rotations
It’s been a very active week behind the scenes as we are testing, retesting, and preparing the latest build of ExoGP for our Pilots. Game Night was a barn-burner, once again, with Rush reclaiming the coveted Game Night trophy. Richard Ng dropped some knowledge on a Space about Web3 acquisition. We have several partner events coming up this week, plus many more that are being arranged. All that and more in this week’s Community Update.
ExoGP Game Night Recap
Stage 1 of ExoGP Season Zero may have ended but the competition is heating up and the FLEX is still flowing, exclusively through Game Nights, until Stage 2 kicks off! This week, our previous Game Night Champion, Chomoz, was unable to hold onto the crown, narrowly taking second place to Rush, who finished with an overall best time of 02:28.4194 on Manta. Chomoz still managed to run the fastest lap of the night, however, coming in at a blazing 00:47.5490! And lastly, our bronze winner for both categories was, once again, held down by Stark.
Fastest 3-Lap Race on Manta
👑 Rush — 02:28.4194
🥈 Chomoz — 02:29.4716
🥉 Stark — 02:32.9491
Fastest Single-Lap on Manta
🥇 Chomoz — 00:47.5490
🥈 Rush — 00:47.6079
🥉 Stark — 0:48.9025
We raffled off MKIV Genesis Exos to Hiro, Rush, Ganyuu and Dove, as well as physical prints of Exordium comic covers, T-shirts, and enamel pins. We also held our guessing game contest to see who could predict Garvey’s best 3-lap race of the night on Manta. Congratulations to Chomoz, who had the closest guess, and earned an extra 100 FLEX for their answer.
All of our Game Night racers were also entered into our December Razer Wolverine Controller Giveaway! Stay tuned for info on our next Game Night on Thursday, December 12.
Spaces for Gaming
Planet Atmos’ VP of Marketing Richard Ng joined in a Space hosted by Gaming Startup Collective focused on user acquisition in the land of Web3 gaming. The host initially thought Rich was an AI agent, thanks to his radio-friendly voice and prowess as an audio engineer. The need to satisfy two extremely different user types was one of the unique challenges of Web3 user acquisition that was discussed amongst the panel.
“Being a fan of hockey or baseball doesn’t preclude you from going to a casino. I might choose to go play slots, blackjack, or pai gow, and then I might also be really into watching hockey. What we have to do, as we’re developing our audiences, is understand not just the direct 1:1 attachment of their interest and need states to the products we make, but also understand the breadth of where you can go with an audience. That way you become a little bit of a part of their life, that experience that they carry, so that they think about [your product] away from the desk.” — Richard Ng
Collab Corral
Aside from our weekly in-house Game Night, we also have several upcoming events planned with a few of our partners. On Thursday, we will be flexing our Catmos vibes as we join Nyan Heroes in their Discord for the Nyan Parade. At 9:00 AM PT, members of the Nyan Heroes team will run ExoGP races with members of our team to showcase the game to their community, share recent updates, give out collective rewards, and answer any questions about Planet Atmos and ExoGP.
We have two events hosted by the Catalyst crew on deck for this week. We’ll be providing their community with the latest news and updates and answering questions during an AMA and gameplay session in their Discord on Thursday. And then, on Friday, we take to the skies for nothing but epic battles on the ExoGP racetracks.
We also have a Game Night session scheduled on Friday with the Mancos NFT group. Our last gaming event with their community left us equally proud and humbled and we look forward to seeing how much they’ve progressed.
Community Highlight
For this week’s highlight, we want to give a shout out to some of our X (Twitter) warriors from Socials Rising, who are out there, doing the work and spreading the word about Planet Atmos. We’ve been seeing a lot of superb content coming down the pipeline from folks like Alvin, Hasan, Cire Memoh, Adewale Festus, Clumsy Knight, and JoJo, to name a few. We greatly appreciate your advocacy and your creativity, and we’re happy to have you on Planet Atmos.
