Community Update #12
Many citizens enjoyed an extended weekend and, as such, the community was a bit more reserved this week. Everyone needs a little downtime, especially after long days digging through hard layers of gangue, praying for Ore. In fact, a quiet space is the perfect place to grind and build and we’ve been very busy. Let’s take a look at what’s happening on Planet Atmos and what lies ahead.
Metaverse & Economy
Atmos Labs’s Founder and CEO Kevin Beauregard recently sat down with PYMNTS to discuss the intersection of economy and building in the Metaverse. They talked about a wide range of topics including Planet Atmos, ExoGP, crypto, DeFi, tokens, and more. In describing Atmos Labs’ approach to blockchain gaming and how it relates to economy, Kevin says, “I don’t love the play-to-earn narrative, I focus on the word ownership. If you make something about earning then all it is about is work. It is no longer fun. That doesn’t mean there aren’t real money components to it … Game economies are real money economies. People can trade the assets that [players are] creating because they own them.” Read more
Virtual Soiree with Metakey
As many of you already know, our activation event and gathering in Decentraland hosted by Metakey was a great success. A lot of folks showed up to the Planet Atmos holodeck to meet with members of the Planet Atmos team, socialize with fellow citizens, and enjoy a full gallery of Atmosi artwork. Thank you to everyone who attended! We look forward to future gatherings and more opportunities like this to celebrate our community.
All attendees were able to sign up for a free Planet Atmos themed wearable jetpack just for stopping by. During the Planet Atmos event Metakey deployed their POAP machine to capture ETH addresses but unfortunately a caveat was overlooked and only 353 addresses were collected out of nearly 2000 attendees. Metakey have apologized for this error and are working on their internal processes to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
The 353 ETH addresses that were collected should have the jetpack wearable in their backpack now. They are giving away free Planet Atmos jetpacks again via the following Premint link:

Social Hour at The Good Greave
We had the pleasure of spending some more time chatting with some of our Original Data Card Holders (ODHs) during another VIP Happy Hour in our Discord on Thursday. These social hours are an excellent way for citizens of Planet Atmos to connect and get to know each other better. Attendees were also shown an exclusive look at how the MKIV Exo looks while barreling down an ExoGP course. Thank you to all who joined, we look forward to hosting another one soon!
Community Highlights
This week we’d like to call out one of our volunteer mods, K8, for doing an excellent job of answering questions, sharing and re-sharing important content, and just doing everything they can to support Planet Atmos and the community in general. Thank you for your service, K8. We appreciate every one of you for being part of our community and building this world with us and we enjoy celebrating your efforts here.
On the Horizon
We have a major announcement to share with you next time regarding Atmos: Exordium, the first chapter of our nine part comic series. Stay tuned for that update on how to be the first to get the comic, as well as an upcoming AMA with the team who led its creation. More lore coming very soon.
