As we inch closer to the end of 2023, we have much to celebrate and be thankful for! ExoGP and the MKIV Exo are both being tested and refined daily; community members are assisting and contributing through playtesting events; Exordium comics have entered the physical realm; and we’re discovering new like-minded communities and building new partnerships and collaborations regularly. Let’s take a look at this week’s wrapup!

Comping Comics

In the spirit of the holiday season, we hosted an Exordium comic book giveaway on X (formerly Twitter). Three lucky winners were selected at random and will soon receive a physical copy of Exordium Volume 1, which features the first three chapters plus an exclusive gallery of concept art from Planet Atmos. Congratulations to our winners! If you’re not already, be sure to follow us in order to get notified of our next contest or giveaway.

Community Member Sweepstakes

Longtime community member and music producer extraordinaire, Gritbeat, launched their own raffle this week, offering up a coveted MKIV Datacard to their friends and followers. We love a good contest and we love having Gritbeat on Planet Atmos, helping spread the word throughout the galaxy. Therefore, we sent two more Datacards to Gritbeat to support their efforts, expand the raffle, and help us discover a few more admirable recruits along the way. Thank you, Gritbeat! And, to our new MKIV Datacard holders, welcome to Planet Atmos.

Industry News

The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has officially announced the end of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), marking the conclusion of a 20-year history for the gaming industry event. The decision comes after a series of challenges, including the cancellation of the 2020 event due to the pandemic and the subsequent virtual format of the 2021 version. The 2022 event was ultimately canceled due to a lack of interest, and major publishers, such as Sony and Nintendo, increasingly turned to online platforms like Twitch to livestream their announcements, bypassing the need for traditional conventions like E3.

The ESA’s President and CEO, Stanley Pierre-Louis, stated that while there has been historical passion for E3, it is now the “right thing to do” as new platforms provide more direct ways to reach fans and partners. The end of E3 reflects a bigger change in how the industry connects with its audience as the gaming industry seems to be moving towards virtual showcases and presentations over IRL events.

Community Highlights

They’ve been featured here before and it’s time to do it again. Gritbeat’s MKIV Datacard raffle not only highlights his enthusiasm for Planet Atmos but also exemplifies the type of spirit that makes our community thrive. In an era where digital interactions can sometimes feel detached, Gritbeat’s raffle served as a reminder that our community is a dynamic and interconnected network of real people having real experiences that go far beyond the screen. On that note, take a moment and check out Gritbeat’s latest music release, ‘Spirits’.
