Do you feel like you could be more productive if only you had more time in the day? Are you constantly struggling with procrastination?

If so, don’t worry — you’re not alone.

Fortunately, there are a few things that you can do on a daily basis to increase your productivity and overcome these challenges.

In this post, we will discuss the research-backed habits that will help you get more done each day!

Hydration Level

Did you know that dehydration can impact your productivity?

You surely heard this a thousand times before, but probably never knew which kind of harm you may be causing to yourself: it’s important to make sure that you’re drinking enough water each day. Period.

According to a study published in the Journal of Nutrition, dehydration can lead to feelings of fatigue and confusion.

The American Dietetic Association recommends drinking half your body weight in ounces of water per day — or ~33mL per kilogram.

Keep in mind that this amount may vary depending on your gender and activity level. In that case, don’t be afraid to drink more than just the recommended.

People with an athletic physique can drink between four and six liters of water easily, without problems, except for frequent trips to the toilet.

Sleep Quality

Getting adequate sleep is another key factor when it comes to increasing productivity.

A lack of sleep can lead to problems such as fatigue, decreased focus and concentration, and an increase in mistakes made.

It’s important to get between seven and eight hours of sleep each night in order to be at your best.

So the next time you want to stay up all night working instead of saving energy for the next day, think twice.

Nutrition

Another factor that can impact productivity is nutrition. When you go to eat, think that you are not only filling your stomach but also your brain!

It’s essential to make sure that you’re getting the right nutrients each day, as this can help improve cognitive function.

Some key nutrients for productivity include omega-fatty acids, B vitamins, iron, magnesium, and zinc.

You can ensure that you’re getting these nutrients by eating a balanced diet and taking a multivitamin if needed.

Exercises

Did you know that exercising can also help increase productivity?

According to research from the University of Bristol, employees who exercised before the work journey reported fewer absences due to sickness and increased productivity while at work.

Exercising for just 20 minutes three times per week can help improve productivity. Exercising for 2 to 5 hours can lead to your desired body. Think of that.

Daily Agenda

Finally, one of the most essential factors: having a daily agenda. This is not only about making a to-do list but developing rituals for staying organized.

When you know what you need to accomplish each day, it’s easier to stay on track and avoid procrastination.

Having a monthly or long-term plan can also be helpful in keeping you focused and motivated.

I’m sure this advice, although well-known, forms 90% of what is needed to get the best out of yourself every day — just like it worked for me. I would love to hear your thoughts — please share them in the comments below.
