A productivity odyssey: From hospitals to construction sites

It’s not just about getting rid of paper.

My previous career in enterprise hospital software implementation brought me into an industry plagued with hundreds of digital and paper tools, which needed to work together for the benefit of the patients. These tools made hospital employees’ jobs more complex, wasted millions of dollars on maintenance, and lead to frustration for patients and their families.

In my element: Training teams to use PlanGrid

Fortunately, the software I implemented covered all areas of the hospital, freeing the staff from the nightmare of using a different tool in every department. One of the most frustrating aspects about complicated projects — in any industry — is when important processes are tracked in numerous systems, forcing the user to jump between each platform or app in order to complete basic tasks.

For construction project teams, simply replacing paper is an immediate benefit for implementing PlanGrid, but we’re solving more than just the paper problem. We’re constantly releasing new functionality, like our sheet compare and measurement tool, which provides real benefits and ROI to our customers.

In addition to enhancing PlanGrid on all platforms, we’re also improving how PlanGrid works with other construction management tools. Our API tools and partnerships allow PlanGrid to talk to other programs to further enhance the PlanGrid experience and reduce double documentation.

Today, my role is focused on training customers to use PlanGrid to its maximum potential and to listen to their feedback about what features would make PlanGrid better. PlanGrid allows everyone to collaborate and stay aligned in real-time on the job site and we’re looking forward to continuing to deliver great features that will make our customers more efficient, and deliver their projects on time and under budget.
