Drawings are crucial to a project. Work off the wrong set, and your schedule and budget are at risk. The AEC industry’s traditional solutions are error-prone and inefficient: plan tables aren’t always at your fingertips, emails get lost, files get misnamed, and PDFs aren’t easy to navigate in the field.

PlanGrid solves this by enabling access to the revision history on mobile devices in a simple, error-free way, and utilizing artificial intelligence to reduce manual work. We’re committed to delivering the best solution to our customers, and over the past 6 months, we’ve launched several improvements: automatic tagging, better publishing and authoring tools, more accurate automatic title box detection, and in our latest release, the ability to get your revision history in any order, no matter what order you upload your sheets in — which we’ll talk about here.

As of today, all new projects let you set an issue date on sheets. The issue date determines the order of your sheets in the revision history and can be set before and after publishing. We’ve also added powerful tools to resolve any issues in your revision history, any time.

This is a big change, so on Wednesday, December 14, Erica Gasbarro, former project engineer, PlanGrid user, and now professional services manager, and Abhik Pramanik, senior product manager, will present on the utility of versioning drawings in PlanGrid, how to set up versioning, and how to use our latest features to get your revision history in order.

We’re committed to innovation, and with your feedback, we’ll continue to improve PlanGrid to make your life even easier on the jobsite. To ensure we keep connecting our builders with your builders, we’re holding office hours every Friday from 10:00AM–12:00PM PST. If you’re interested in sharing your feedback on PlanGrid’s sheet management with our engineers, designers, quality assurance leads, and data scientists, please contact your RSM or email features@plangrid.com to get involved.

Sincerely,

The Sheets Team: Jesse, Cory, Abhik, Ryan, Mariah, Chris, Ivan, Vicky, Jessica, Drew, Erica
