Ag-Tech Company, EzFarm said it has signed a business agreement to develop technology for growing plant foods and natural ingredients that replace meat with Food-tech Start Up, The PlantEat. The PlantEat is a food-tech start-up aimed at addressing global nutritional imbalances caused by excessive meat production by researching and developing meat substitutes based on it’s data analytics technology.

Under the agreement, EzFarm will use its artificial light plant factory kit, ‘GrowBot’, to select and grow new ingredients for processing foods to replace meat and dairy products. In addition, the company examines the possibility of mass production through the eco-friendly hydroponic smart farm called ‘Farmtory’.

Based on results given by the platform, the PlantEat will analyze the ingredients and nutrients of the crops. Also the start up will review the raw material’s applicability, productivity and marketability to showcase new substitutes to the market.

The two companies plan to establish a database through crop selection, cultivation, and component analysis. The two companies is planning to develop and process alternative raw products as early as this month.

“The majority of raw materials used to make pure plant-based substitutes in Korea are limited to a few raw materials, such as beans and beets. We are looking forward to researching new raw materials and crops using EzFarm’s food computer “Growbot. ”
