And, Here… We… Go…

“The future has many names: The Lazy call it: The Impossible. The Fearful refer to it as: The Unknown. But The Courageous embrace it by saying: ‘This is my Challenge.’” — Victor Hugo, famous French activist and author of Les Miserables
The stark reality is no one (believers or non-believers) wants another church. You are kind to be reading this, but you probably don’t get it either. If you were to be honest you are probably questioning the need for another church.
First question of this new chapter: Since no one wants another church, why are we about to plant one?
Over the past few months, the Lord has called and confirmed His leading into this new phase of ministry. Over the next few years we will be looking to engage the world around us with the hope and peace only Jesus can offer. While many of the details are being put in place (that’s what the Residency is all about) there are points of clarity.
We are wanting to reach more than a congregation. We want to bless the whole community.
We are wanting to build more than a building. We want to build a movement.
We want to do more than just keep our lights on or our mouths fed. We want to serve a gospel feast to people who may have never wanted to enter a church. We want to be shining brightly in and around a dark world.
These are big goals fitting for a big God. The same God who gave us a glimpse of the victory to come.
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” — Revelation 7:9–10
To see the Lord do this in and through us has become our hearts cry, but we cannot do this alone.
“Planting new churches is not only biblical, needed, and financially wise; it represents “the best way to increase the number of believers in a city, and one of the best ways to renew the whole body of Christ. . . . Nothing else has the consistent impact of dynamic, extensive church planting.” The best way for your church to make a lasting impact that meets both the physical and spiritual needs of a community is to plant a church.” — J.D. Greear, Gaining By Losing: Why the Future Belongs to Churches that Send (p. 228)
We are stepping away from nearly half our salary in the next year and all of it in the year after that.
We will not be able to plant this church without people supporting this undertaking.
We are looking for people to come along side us to raise a lot of money to put a church together from scratch. Yet we have a great God who is able. The Lord who led us here will supply for our family AND for this new work. We are trusting Him to put it on the hearts of His people to come along side this work.
The Oklahoma Church Planting Residency has set up a fund for people to give to this church plant.
Will you please consider joining our team?
All of you can pray.
Most of you can serve.
And we believe the Lord will lead many of you to be a part of this financially.
This fund is hosted through Frontline Church and is overseen by their staff and Elders. The Residency Leadership will be providing accounting and accountability for these funds.
You can access the funds here. Select the fund titled “201601-CP”
You can also mail a check to Frontline Church at 1104 N Robinson Ave, OKC OK 73103. Write “201601-CP” on the memo line. If they mail a check, it is imperative that you don’t write our name, just the project code.
Finally, we have an amazing story to tell and an incredible road ahead. We would love to sit down with you and have a conversation about all of these things and more. We can dive deep into the details or stay in the clouds with the dreams. Please contact us to set up a time.
