Recession? Not in luxury. September Vogue is PHAT.
Googled to find out how many pages Vogue weighed in at, exactly. And how it compared to last year. According to @NatIves at AdAge,“Vogue’s September issue weighs in at 584 ad pages, up 9% from 2010.”
We’re in a recession, after all. But not for luxury. For many reasons: the great divide of wealth in America these days, purchases by aspirationals, the boost buy amidst the economic gloom & doom, etc. etc.
This weekend I noticed the T Magazine was a little plump and thought: that’s a good thing. This week’s arrival of the super-sized Vogue makes for another lovely bellweather. Can’t hurt to hope.
