Concert Roulette Expands to Include Over 1,000 Videos of Live Concerts

Concert Roulette, Alternative Classical’s digital jukebox, has been expanded to include over 1,000 videos of live concerts. It was created during lockdown as a fun, easy and free way to watch classical concerts from around the world and discover pieces and performers.

The roulette went on to be played in over 120 countries and over 3,000 cities by thousands of people. It continues to be played every single day.

Concert Roulette originally comprised around 200 videos, so the site has grown over 5 times since its inception in 2020.

It has been described by Culture Whisper as “the most musical fun since lockdown began…there are hours and hours of fun to be had here” and was highly commended in the Classical Music Digital Awards 2020.

Viewers are presented with a random performance — renaissance choral music in a church or an experimental solo piece in a gallery — starting at the moment of the upbeat.

They can choose to watch or click ‘another!’ until they find a performance of interest, jumping across time, venues and shows. Each video is a recording of a live concert with an audience.
