Feed.fm, the leading Unified Music System for businesses, announced that it has partnered with global fitness brand Barry’s to create Barry’s X Radio, the streaming music experience powering Barry’s X.

Barry’s X is a community-driven digital workout product that complements the in-studio experience of Barry’s workouts, and also provides a stand-alone experience for users that don’t have access to physical studios.

Barry’s X features both live and on-demand classes across web and mobile apps, so users can access Barry’s signature Red Room intimacy, atmosphere, and community wherever they are. Barry’s X Radio offers professionally curated popular music across a wide variety of genres that helps users power through their workouts, while creating an engaging experience that keeps them coming back.

“Since 1998, music has played an integral role in Barry’s signature immersive fitness experience known as ‘The Best Workout in the World,” said Joey Gonzalez, Barry’s Global CEO. “Feed.fm has not only provided our clients with more control over their music and playlists, it has also unlocked our growth potential, allowing us to scale Barry’s X globally. From the time we launched Barry’s X two years ago, we’ve heard from people all around the world who wanted to be a part of it. The partnership with Feed.fm will allow us to expand the Barry’s X experience to those users outside the US.”

Barry’s X was initially launched as “Barry’s at Home” in March 2020 after Gonzalez led an Instagram live workout during the global pandemic. After more than 20,000 viewers tuned in, the company created Barry’s at Home as an innovative pivot to “social fitnessing” that allowed the brand to remain connected to their global community while their in-person studios were shut down.

Feed.fm is the first platform in an emerging product category called Unified Music Systems (UMS), which offer a turnkey way for app publishers to integrate music from top and emerging artists and make data-backed music selections to increase user engagement and retention. Feed.fm’s platform gives companies of any size the ability to add pre-cleared popular music into their apps and connected devices, removing the need to deal with the legal complexities and associated costs of licensing commercial music directly, as well as a music content management system and analytics.

“Engagement and personalization are the keys to growth for digital products like Barry’s X, and music is one of the best mediums to continually strengthen engagement with customers,” said Feed Media Group CEO and co-founder, Jeff Yasuda. “Increasingly, we’re seeing innovative companies like Barry’s use a music-led growth strategy to help product teams create more immersive experiences, reduce churn, and foster advocacy. Barry’s X Radio is a great example of that strategy done right.”
