UNIFI Music Prepares for Launch with AI Boost

Since 2020, Lashion Robinson has guided HUDL Music to become a beacon for indie artists to share their music, visuals, and connect with each other in ways like never before.

Now, the CEO and founder is in the midst of his company’s next chapter — reintroducing itself as UNIFI Music.

New name, but the focus remains on supporting fiercely independent artists.

Of the many tools in the UNIFI Music arsenal, such as the EPK feature, Tip Jar, music distribution to over 200 DSPs, and the embeddable player feature, Artificial Intelligence is set to play a big part of the new blueprint.

We caught up with Robinson to get a better idea of what he has planned for AI and its function in UNIFI Music.

— As HUDL Music re-brands to Unifi Music, AI is going to play a big role — specifically your AI-driven Manager, known as “Sasha.” Can you give us some new details about how you plan to incorporate AI (and Sasha) into the Unifi business — and how it will benefit the artists.

Sasha will become the premiere feature for UNIFI Music that will personalize each interaction and develop a unique relationship with the artist who opts-in for a PRIMO subscription (our all-inclusive $40/month paid option that includes all our paid features…a no-brainer if you look at all the tools out in the field right now and combine their costs for what an independent artist start out needs in their arsenal).

Sasha (patent pending) can benefit independent artists and musicians in so many ways, particularly those who cannot afford to hire a physical music manager of their own.

In our initial testing and hardening of this new critical feature rollout, we’ve found that Sasha is not only knowledgeable but reliable as well.

For example: Once an artist has completed their subscription to Sasha they will have full access to Sasha, our AI Artist Manager, but also to our other features like unlimited distribution (artists keep 100% of their streaming and sales royalties), the TipJar (artists can accept donations and tips from everyone, they keep 100% of the tips/donations), our Electronic Press Kit (EPK) which is a real-time updating “link in bio” replacement for all those other boring, static tools out there.

Not to mention our social community aspect, our embeddable album/single/playlist/podcast music player to get your music in front of fans and readers faster, driving traffic back to your UNIFI Music profile as well…viral-ready!

I don’t want to let the entire lion out the cage, but Sasha will be able to write social media posts, help artists budget and plan for their marketing campaigns with very detailed insights no matter how large or small the artist’s budget is.

Artists can ask Sasha various questions like:
— How do I copyright my music?
— What’s a good city for rap music touring near New York City?
— What are the highest revenue cities for touring as a country artist?
— As a new artist in the Bronx, how should I market myself?

Sasha will also be able to guide new artists through our platform, and more importantly their entire career, removing the need and desire for a human music manager, which is often not to be trusted and rarely delivers.

— When can we expect to see Sasha fully integrated with the Unifi platform?

I’ve been waiting to answer that question for over a year now LOL…October 2024!

— You’re beginning with Sasha, but can you envision AI being utilized elsewhere inside Unifi? How do you see the role of AI evolving in your business over the next 5–10 years?

Ok, futuristic question. I see Sasha evolving as a trusted partner that will continue to be a trusted source for our members on UNIFI Music: Helping them write booking contracts, determining what their deal structure should look like (if they even want to be signed to a label of any kind), figuring out their next move as an artist with three hot singles, and so on.

Sasha has the ability to teach artists how best to take advantage of the UNIFI Music platform to grow their career.

In five years AI will be so far ahead of where we are today-I would advise all current Artist Managers to get sharper their knowledge about the business.
