IBM has selected Platin for its IBM Alpha Zone technology accelerator. This marks the launch of a collaboration between Platin and the tech giant’s resources. The focus is on supporting and accelerating Platin’s work on furthering the development of its decentralized proof of location protocol, proof of address and other Platin use cases, powered by IBM’s AI and machine learning capabilities.

Alpha Zone is IBM’s flagship technology accelerator program — a half year long program offering unique access to IBM’s cloud infrastructure, development and AI and ML focused resources. Platin will use its cooperation with IBM to accelerate work on mobility anomaly detection and location data pattern recognition. This intensive deep-dive will be used to proactively boost Platin’s protocol efficiency, security, and end-to-end geospatial capabilities.

Platin has deep roots in Israel’s startup scene, with each of its co-founders having worked in Israeli-based global companies and startups. Israel is a place of critical innovation density, serving as an underlying motivation for IBM choosing to set up its first ever technology accelerator in Israel.

Rick Kaplan, country general manager of IBM Israel, said at the time of its founding the accelerator that IBM selected Israel so it can take full advantage of the Start-Up Nation’s innovative prowess. Since then, IBM Alpha Zone has become one of the top global accelerators, with more than 400 startups applying every year, and only a handful making the cut.

“IBM has some of the world’s leading data scientists and experts on cryptography,” said Allon Mason, Platin Co-Founder & CEO. “This program is a terrific opportunity for Platin to access these unique resources while perfecting Platin’s machine learning algorithms for the benefit of the greater Proof of Location space.”

Accelerating innovative technologies is IBM’s core focus, and Platin looks forward to accelerate its cutting edge capabilities.

The accelerator’s opening event on June 5, 2019 was a powerful showcase of the Startup Nation’s most promising business initiatives and technologies.
