No Walls in the Global Village

Capitalism has exhausted itself. The contradictions in the system are reaching the point at which there can be no solution but a total collapse. In the meantime, the decimated working class is being polarized on the left and on the right. On the right, this translates into racism, xenophobia, and the rise of far-right and fascist demagogues. Below is an article that I wrote in 2016 discussing this phenomenon on the eve of Brexit and the nomination of Donald J. Trump as the Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States.
