How there is an Artist/Philosopher behind every tech Invention Turned Revolution

Everybody believes that a new technology is a work of a genius. A genius who is probably a brilliant coder or mathematician or has an inclination towards the STEM field. Well this might be true but if we look at things from a higher vantage point a new technology is not just created or coded rather it is first imagined/thought and then crafted.

We believe that the teams and people who invent new tech are not just geniuses but are artists and philosophers at heart.

It’s the philosopher’s imagination that makes him think and it is his thought that he pens down to create something revolutionary. Moreover, the brushes and paints are just means to an end for an artist with an end goal to paint something magnificent that he imagined or saw.

Similarly, a coding language or a mathematical concept are just tools for an inventor of new technology but at the heart of such invention lies an artist who believes that the world would be a much better place with his efforts and thoughts.

Also, At PlatoWorks we believe that there is difference between an invention and a revolution. Inventions are a rare feat but Revolutions are even rarer. So how do we get from an Invention to a revolution

The easiest way to explain this would be with the help of Revolutions that have occurred already:

The PC Revolution

PCs were initially thought to be for hobbyists and geeks and we now have PCs at our workplace and at our homes. It is not only difficult but to an extent impossible to imagine a world without computers.

The Internet Revolution

We hardly use the post office now don’t we! The internet enabled humans to streamline communication and send messages in an instant across continents. A day without the internet is the day when time just moves slowly and every hour seems to be significantly longer than usual.

The Mobility Revolution

We thought the mobile phones could not get any better and then everybody started taking about mobile apps. We now order food and cabs using mobile apps and even plan out our savings and access our financial accounts using apps. It seems Mobile apps were not just new technology but a new lifestyle.

The Blockchain Revolution

Can we seriously eliminate middle men out of our financial transactions. Can we actually become our own banks. Yes we can! And with the help of Blockchain we can exchange any asset physical or digital by trusting in a trustless system

Well the history lesson was great but it still does not explain how we get from a Invention to a Revolution. To answer our question, we would have figure what is common between these four revolutions. The answer is not what the answer is “We” the layman.

Without even understanding how the chipset works anybody, even a 2 year old, could use a computer.

With just a few clicks we can send messages and heavy files across using the internet and we don’t even care about the huge mesh and complex protocols that are used instantly to transfer our messages.

Moreover, even people above 80 can easily use mobile apps using, as Steve Jobs puts it, the god-gifted stylus — We have 10 of those.

So we hope it is now quite clear that — The day a layman starts to use an invention without hassle is the day that Invention becomes a Revolution.

At PlatoWorks we work on revolutionary technologies and those technologies that have the potential to be revolutionary. Currently we are experimenting with Blockchain and VR/AR and not only enabling our clients with solutions using these technologies but also building our own in-house products for We — The Layman to play with, with a firm belief that the sky is the limit.

We are not just coders or business guys but a team of artists and philosophers that have been born in the right era to lead the technological revolution for the future.
