Axie Infinity Reveals First Look at Land

😍 New perspective, resource gathering, backpacks, vehicles!

After selling all their land months ago, the team behind Axie Infinity has finally revealed more details about the looks and utility of virtual land in the world of Lunacia. Landowners will be able to collect resources from their virtual land, decorate it with structures and battle enemies on them. Sky Mavis revealed a lot of details in a blog post.

The studio is adding all kinds of elements to give people to ability to personalize their virtual land. Items from the land sale can also be placed on the map, think about plushies, plants and statues. Because of the perspective, the team has been recreating the Axies from an isometric point of view.

Players will be able to travel to different areas. They will need backpacks to acquire resources outside of their own lands. In addition the team is thinking about a crafting system, allowing players to create items from their gathered resources. Those items can also be used to build structures. Sky Mavis considers this ‘a vital component of land play’. Right now the team is thinking about a town hall, a storage unit and a portal to travel to dungeons. In the future things like a potion shop, blacksmith and farms could be added as well.

More things not yet set in stone

Land owners will be able to manage their own land. However, when a player owns hundreds of land parcels, things could become a bit troublesome. The developers are thinking about providing management tools, allowing players to whitelist friends or guild mates to help out. The land owners would still get a small management fee, while the friends gather resources.

Chimera battles also need to become a part of the land system. However, the team has not yet decided how they will integrate these boss fights. Perhaps they spawn at random and players need to approach them, but another solution would be that players get ambushed. “A combination of both mechanisms could also work”, they stated in their blog.

The third potential feature the developers are thinking about, is allowing players to build some sort of vehicle. Gamers would need resources to build a certain vehicle to travel through certain types of land. However, all these plans are still a bit far fetched.

What is Axie Infinity?

Axie Infinity is a tactical battle game in which two players fight each other using a team of cute creatures called Axies. These little weird balls of joy live in a world called Lunacia, and they come in all kinds of shapes in sizes. Their characteristics influence which moves they are capable of performing. They can be damage dealers, healers, or bad ass tanks.

Axies are deadly cute, that is an undeniable truth. But Axies are not only just cute, their appearance are almost unique. It is difficult to find two look-alike Axies since their body parts have various forms and shapes. There are more than 500 Axie’s body parts. Axies’ body and parts are classified into classes including Beast, Plant, Bug, Bird, Reptile and Aquatic, and more in future release. Moreover, the parts also come with four levels of rarity, which are Common, Rare, Ultra Rare, Legendary.

It is the battle system that makes Axie Infinity stand out. Axies will take turn to fight in a 3v3 battle. The Axies fight for their own will, but to win the victory, players need to a real strategist, from wisely choosing appropriate Axies for their team to placing them at the tactical positions.

Sky Mavis is working hard to make Axie Infinity a serious game. At least once per month the developer or community members organize a tournament. On top of that players can earn love potions or other crypto rewards from playing the game. As a result there are many incentives to get active within the world of Axie Infinity.
