Light Trail Rush beta coming March 12th

French game studio B2Expand has announced that Light Trail Rush is getting its beta release on March 12th. The vehicular brawler is already available in alpha, but the studio will update it with enhanced graphics, an improved user interface and all kinds of game statistics. Gamers can sign up for the beta on the official website.

In Light Trail Rush, gamers compete either as a Tracer or a Chaser. The Tracer is the player in the lead who’s designing the track. The competition needs to battle with each other. They are called Chasers, and they score points by bumping each other off the road in a frenetic confrontation. The game ends when one players hits the point limit. So there’s no finish line like with a standard racing game.

It’s easy to compared the game with console racing games like Wipeout and F-zero, but Light Trail Rush doesn’t have a finish line. Additionally the game has community-features from games like Rocket League and user generated content like in Track Mania. If you mix all these games together, and add some blockchain sauce, you’ll get a game like Light Trail Rush. Yes, B2Expand has optimized the game for controller gameplay.

How to get a Steam key for Light Trail Rush

Getting a Steam key to start testing Light Trail Rush is easy:

1. Go to LightTrailRush.com

2. Click “Claim your Steam key”

3. And leave your email address.

B12Expand will launch the beta with an update on 12th March 2020. When Light Trail Rush releases officially it will be a paid game.

Blockchain and cosmetics

B2Expand has tokenized cosmetic assets for the vehicles in this game on the Ethereum blockchain. The studio has made partnerships with Neon District and Battle Racers for limited edition vehicle skins, while they’ve also created decorations for the vehicles. All these are stored on the Ethereum blockchain and can be traded on public marketplaces like OpenSea.

The developers will also make Light Trail Rush compatible with the in-house developed Nexium cryptocurrency. When players buy a hologram to decorate their vehicles, they can power-up these holograms with NxC. The more coins they had, the shinier the hologram will be.
