Pong Legends Alpha v0.4 Is Here: Win Chests, Level Up Avatars, and Face New Challenges!

We’re shaking things up in the world of Pong Legends with our biggest update yet! But first, a quick look back at the last few months and the momentum we’re building with the growing Pong Legends community:

Chests: Grab ’Em, Stack ’Em, and Score Rewards

Prepare for treasure hunting as we introduce timed reward chests that you can earn by dominating the competition. You’ll have four chest slots on the game’s home screen, each chest opening at different intervals. But here’s the deal: if all four slots are already filled, you won’t be able to snag any more chests until you make some space, so keep an eye on your inventory to make room for ongoing rewards.

To kick things off, the initial chest rewards will be solely avatar shards. Now, you might be wondering, “What the heck are avatar shards?” Well, hold your horses, ’cause we’re about to spill the beans!

Avatar Leveling: Unleash Customization and Claim Your Rewards

Get ready to level up your avatars and unlock some seriously cool in-game gear, including tables, balls, cups and more. Whenever you outshine your opponents and emerge victorious in a match, you’ll score a timed chest that matches your current arena. Crack open that bad boy, wait for the designated time, and boom — you’ll be showered with avatar shards that will take your main squeeze to new heights.

If you scored an in-game avatar, it starts at level 1 and can be jacked up to a kickass 5-star rating by collecting duplicates. But if you got your hands on an avatar through a digital collectible sale and connected your wallet to the game, you’re in for a treat. You’ll unlock all rewards for that avatar right off the bat. But here’s the best part: leveling up won’t cost you a dime. Just gather those shards, and your avatars will automatically level up.

So get ready to flaunt your upgraded characters and dominate the arena like a true legend.

Emotes: Amp Up the Fun with Expressive Gestures

Communication is key. That’s why we’re bringing emotes to crank up the excitement during intense matches. When the heat is on, tap that emote selector and voilà! The Emote Slider pops out, giving you a range of expressions to choose from. Want to celebrate an epic shot or express “GG” to your opponent? Just pick the emote that speaks to your soul, and let your avatar do the talking.

We’re all about good sportsmanship, folks. And for those who prefer a chill gaming vibe, we’ve got your back too. Hit that “mute” button, and poof — no more emotes. You won’t see any from your opponent either, although they can still send ’em. It’s a fresh start each game, so remember to switch it up however you please.

New Boss Battles: Prepare for the Ultimate Showdown

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a legend? Well, get ready to prove it. In 0.4 we will introduce four new Boss Battles, which will run for a full week. Here’s the updated Boss Battles schedule:

Character Powers: All Access Pass

We have a big update to Character Powers in v0.4. All Chocotoy characters will now have their character power enabled and won’t be limited to boss battle events. However, the caveat is users will need to get to level 3 with the respective avatar to unlock their character power (digital collectible owners will have it unlocked by default). Character powers will be usable in the standard PvP ladder matches along with any other game modes such as Boss Battles

Account Creation

In case you missed it, you can now create an account for use in the game. There are several options which include email and social media logins. This will help ensure that your progress is saved and you can always resume where you left off.

Refined Throwing Physics

We have also gone under the hood to finesse the in-game throwing mechanics, building on insights garnered from versions 0.2 and 0.3, as well as community input. As part of our iterative process inherent in game development, please note that these tweaks are not final. There will be a shift from the familiar as we invite you to explore and master new throwing strategies. Please note that our ultimate objective is to find the sweet spot — a finely balanced experience, so we may recalibrate the physics to circumvent exploits, enhance usability, incorporate player feedback, or align more closely with the game’s design philosophy in the future.
