Big Time Patch Notes v0.30
Version 0.30 — Hotfix 1
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to various bug fixes relating to excess gold and item duplication, this patch will be a player data wipe! BUG FIXES:
- Fixed a few issues that could be used to dupe in-game items
- Fixed an issue where the “take a portal to Time’s End” quest would not complete when it should have been
- Fixed an issue with DBNO Shroud movement speed
- Fixed the Hourglass unlock quest being marked “optional”. Additionally, we’ve added hints in the UI to make it more obvious how to enable Hourglass gameplay after the tutorial
- Fixed an issue with certain SPACE causing part of the player’s Personal Metaverse to become disconnect
- Fixed an issue with the early game quest where Waffles the cat would disappear and players were left unable to open their Personal Metaverse as instructed by the quest
- Fixed an issue where players could be left stranded with no Pocket Watch, unable to progress into the game
- Fixed Epoch City vendors being far too generous with sale prices, causing an excess of Gold in the game
Version 0.30 — Hotfix 2 BUG FIXES:
- Fixed an issue causing the Player Stash not to restore its contents upon loading into the Personal Metaverse
- Fixed an issue with the Ice Spike gem causing way more damage than intended at higher levels
- Fixed an issue causing Elemental Monitors to spawn level 1 henchmen that should have been a similar level to the Monitor
- Fixed Rend dealing more damage than was intended
- Fixed some issues making it difficult to navigate Vendor UI
Huge shoutout to all the community members who provided bug reports and gave the detailed information needed to get these issues fixed, both in Hotfix 1 and Hotfix 2!
Version 0.30 — Hotfix 3 BUG FIXES:
- Fixed an issue causing players to get stuck at the “Acquire new pocket watch” step of the early game quest flow
- VIP Jackpots are now more likely to occur in lower-level dungeons than previously

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to a rework of skill trees and player progression this patch will be a player data wipe! Your player pocket watch, inventory, and Personal Metaverse stash will all be wiped as part of this release. Your Personal Metaverse SPACE and decoration layout will not be wiped. Additionally, unlocked hourglass slots (will be restored upon completion of the unlocking tutorial), $BIGTIME balance, Time Crystal Balance, Cosmetic Shard balance, etc will not be affected.
WHAT’S NEW:
GAMEPLAY:
- Epoch City: the central hub for the game has moved! The gates to Epoch City are open for business. This new social zone concludes the FTUE, featuring new characters, new dialogues, dedicated areas (like the Bazaar that regroups all vendors and the Training Temple), as well as new challenge activities to do. Keep an eye on this zone in the future as we expand and add content.
- New First-Time User Experience: The first few levels of the game have been reworked. Users will now enter the game through a more interesting and polished experience that guides them through the game’s lore & important features of the game.
- Party Finder: Players can now queue up to be automatically placed into parties across regions allowing quick and easy groups to be formed without the need to manually coordinate over chat etc. Also, once a day players playing in a party via Party Finder will receive a drop bonus. We hope this encourages many players to use Party Finder and make it as easy as possible for people to find a group.
- New enemy race introduced! The Void have invaded the land including several different new enemy types. Players will have to stay on their toes and help protect time for this new threat
- Skill tree UI and progression have been revamped
- Pan, zoom & reset functionality added
- All Skill Specs & Stats are now in collapsible side panels
- HotBar has been added to the SkillTree to let players equip abilities on the skill tree screen directly by drag’n dropping them in it or by pressing the Hot bar assigned number while hovering over the skill you want to assign.
- On levels up: available points for spending are shown on the related tabs to those points
- Assigning/Removing points are on the Left/Right mouse button
- Update a few UI elements disposition on the Skill Tree Screen for consistency (Confirm/Cancel button, top left player info that mimics the in-game disposition)
- Player stats spec modifiers in the stats Tab is clearer (green with a + symbol for the next incoming level to see the progression)
- Contextual icons: Personal Metaverse & Decoration Icons show up only when relevant (no need anymore to use a Hotbar slot for it)New Time Warrior ability added: Rock Slug — punches a large rock in the direction of your enemies
- New Time Warrior ability added: Payback — surrounds the player with an auto-triggered counterattack
- New Time Warrior ability added: Quake — smash the ground to deal impact damage along with some aftershocks
- New Time Warrior Into the Fray passive added: Granite Shards — after landing, rock shards shoot out and deal extra damage to surrounding foes
- New Chronomancer ability added: Chain Lightning — bounce lightning from target to target.
- New Chronomancer ability added: Arcane Winds — cast on yourself and friendlies in the area to provide ever-increasing Energy regen as long as you are sprinting (and keep sprinting)
- New Chronomancer Frostball Minor and Fireball Minor passive added: Elemental Shrapnel — causes additional shards of damage to radiant out from the point of impact
- New Chronomancer Time Bubble passive added: Grace of the Downed — gain additional duration of Time Bubble for each ally that is within range
- New Shadowblade ability added: Windslash Kick — quick and powerful flipping strike.
- New Shadowblade Ninja Leap passive added: Shadow Chakram — deal radial damage with each leap
- New Shadowblade Ninja Leap passive added: Power of Mystic Shadows — shadows sap the offensive power of enemies affected.
- New Battlemancer ability added: Ice Orb — casting a slow-moving ball of ice that reaches out to damage enemies with icy tendrils
- New Battlemancer ability added: Ice Burst — launches shards in all directions dealing ice damage to enemies
- New Battlemancer Eruption passive added: Lava Pool — casting an instance of Eruption will leave behind a lava pool to deal further damage
- New Battlemancer Eruption passive added: Collateral Damage — casts of Eruption now add additional lava projectiles that are spewed forth
- New Battlemancer ability added: Aura of Hastening — provides friendlies in the area with a reduction in cooldown for their abilities
- New Techblade Shadow Beam passive added: Healing Mod — adds a modification that provides a minor healing component
- New Weapon Gem: Ice Spike — randomly generates columns of ice that thrust from the ground to deal damage in the target’s vicinity
- New Weapon Gems added: Barrier Breaker, Armor Breaker, Shielding Breaker — provides additional damage to Defensive Layers of each particular type
- New weekly bounty types have been added
BALANCE:
- Players are now immune to small hit reactions that would interrupt the ability when the Rage ability is active
- Piercing Cry range has been increased and will now display damage numbers when connecting with targets
- Piercing Cry is now more effective against shielded targets
- Barbaric Yawp duration and STR bonus have been increased
- Threatening Roar duration is now upgradeable, damage has been increased and the vitality bonus given has been increased
- 2H Axe L1 melee attack has been adjusted to more easily connect with enemies
- Glacial Entombment has been buffed. Damage increased, INT bonus increased, amount of movement slowdown increased
- Shadowblast ability has been buffed. Damage now increased with upgrade points
- Ice Lance's ability has been buffed. Damage increased, and damage is no longer reduced by armor
- Into the Breach has been buffed: duration has been increased (so too has the cooldown)
- Grasping Roots ability effect duration has been increased, and duration can now be upgraded
- Sap ability cooldown has been decreased, but energy cost has increased. Also, the damage has been increased.
- Leaping Lunge: Players can now dodge or trigger other abilities for a wider window during the ability sequence
- Leaping Lunge: Cost and cooldown have been tweaked to make this ability more attractive
- Fixer Drone ability will no longer stop movement when cast
- Summon Turret Artillery cooldown has been reduced
AI:
- Rocket MegaClockies will now fire their rockets from better positions, and the rockets have a ballistic trajectory
- Che has spent some time at the gym and is now a bit harder to kill
ANIMATION:
- Personal Metaverse decoration animations: Players may now interact with many of the decorations in the metaverse which will play an interaction animation appropriate for that item. (e.g. sit in a chair, lay in a bed, etc)
- Wind kick animation has been improved
- 2h Axe jump attack animation has been improved
- T-Rex taunt and roar attack animations have been improved
- Mage staff run animations have been improved
VFX:
- VFX for Time Warrior’s Taunt ability have been improved
- VFX for Aura of Hastening have been improved
- VFX for Hourglasses have been improved
- New VFX for public quest Drill Rigs have been added
- VFX for the the Windkick ability have been improved
- New VFX have been added to Turrets
- VFX for Energy Ball player ability have been improved
- New VFX have been added when various items drop in-game including: Time Crystals, $BIGTIME, and Cosmetic Shards
- VFX for Mining Nodes have been improved
- New VFX for various Portals have been added
- VFX for Orbital Strike have been improved
- VFX for Energy Steal aura have been improved
- New VFX for the Chronographer and Entangler have been added
- VFX for the Arthurian Throne decoration NFT have been improved
- VFX for Overling heavy ranged attacks have been improved
- VFX for Shaped Charge ability have been improved
- VFX for Devolve have been improved
- New VFX for various high-tier NFT weapon cosmetics have been added
- Backstab ability will now play special VFX when it connects with the back of an enemy
- VFX have been added for various shrine-given buffs
LEVELS:
- Venture Dungeon: through an update of the Desert dungeons, a new type of dungeon experience was introduced. In Venture Dungeons, players are free to explore in order to discover and complete a certain number of objectives in any order they choose because the experience is non-linear (unlike the Strike Dungeons). Once the required number of objectives has been completed, players will be able to confront the end-of-level boss. Alternatively, they can choose to find and complete all the objectives in the level, which will influence their final score.
- Several changes have been made to Anomaly Strike dungeons to reduce the need for backtracking
UI:
- If players choose to, they may display their $BIGTIME VIP Tier above their heads in-game
- More information has been added to the After Action Report screen that appears at the end of a mission (Date, Server name, level of dungeon, etc)
- A new setting has been added to allow users to select whether they want to see workshop UI info from far away or not
- Many new types of success and failure messages will appear on the screen as quests are completed etc
- Daily/Weekly bounty reminders will no longer show outside the hub
- In-game HUD has been updated to improve readability and aesthetics
- Discord will now recognize Big Time for “rich presence” features
- Various links and hints to the wiki and other documentation have been added to the game
- Numerous ability UI icons have been improved and added to distinguish abilities from one another
- Added feedback when attempting to craft an NFT at a Workshop and no more of that item are available
- Full-screen map or minimap setting will now be saved between sessions and dungeons to the last setting the player had it on
- Tooltips have been added to the Player base stats in the UI to indicate what the stat affects
- Shop UI has been improved
- Various portals will now display unique loading screens associated with that portal destination
- Down But Not Out countdown timer is now visible on party portraits to indicate the time until they bleed out
- Chat spam protections have been improved to be less easy to bypass
- Revive reticle visuals have been changed to differentiate it from normal heals
- A new icon has been added to indicate when enemies are immune to devolve
- The background color of emotes on the emote wheel now reflects the rarity of the emote
- Notifications in the HUD when Cracked Hourglasses or Epoch Chests are available in the Personal Metaverse now last much longer when first joining the Personal Metaverse
- Fixed cosmetics filters not persisting when closing and opening the inventory UI
- It is now possible to cancel connecting from the main menu screen
PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATIONS:
- Improved performance of the inventory UI significantly, especially for players with a large amount of items in their inventory

- SFX for Flying drone bug attacks, flight and death have been improved
- New SFX for Resurrection Shrines have been added
- SFX for the public quest drill rig have been improved
- New SFX for the Emote Station have been added
- SFX for various bonus rolls have been improved
- SFX for Effigy Fire Traps have been improved
- SFX for Lightning traps have been improved
- SFX for Death balls in Anomaly have been improved
- SFX for Drone Bug spawning have been improved
- SFX have been added for the snow storm in Time’s End

BUG FIXES:
- You can no longer type more in the chat window than what will be sent to other players
- Several server crashes observed in the wild have been fixed
- Fixed an issue that could cause the HUD not to be visible when players are down but not out
- Fixed “you failed” appearing when using a return portal as the last party member in the dungeon
- Fixed a loud sound that would play when opening the cosmetics tab while in a workshop UI
- Fixed vendor price tags showing in red in cases when you could in fact afford the item
- Fixed a bug preventing HUD messages from showing when various gear is acquired from trainers that got sent to a bag
- Fixed hotbar slots bound to key combinations not displaying the correct key combo on the HUD
- Fixed the “unfocused volume” setting not working properly
- Fixed Chain Heal able to heal targets that were further away from the caster than intended
- Fixed revive animation sequence restarting when a new player joins the revive
- VFX radius for Light and Superior heals have been fixed to match the effective range of the ability
- Fixed an issue causing Vendor items not to be filtered when they should have been
- Fixed Oil Trap visual radius not matching its effective radius
- Fixed quick swap weapon UI animation playing even in cases when weapons did not actually switch
- Fixed a specific animation that was supposed to play when a shielding player runs out of energy not playing
- Fixed an issue with Flying Drone Bugs warping around when knocked down
- Fixed an issue where Mega Clockies could “get up” during an execution animation sequence
- Fixed a bug that could cause Cracked Hourglasses not to get persisted if the client crashes or disconnects from the Personal Metaverse in an unusual way
