Civitas Characters Utility — Ever Fragments & Ever Crystals

Today we’ll look at a new game feature and their functionality, the “Ever Fragments” and “Ever Crystals”. These are also new NFT collections. The first Ever Fragment NFTs were airdropped to players who hold a Chosen character NFT on the 27th of September.
Ever Fragments
Ever Fragments are an essential and valuable part of the land generation process. These Ever Fragments are transferable and can be sold to other players anytime. Players can then collect and combine these Ever Fragments NFTs to create Ever Crystals NFTs, powerful NFT artifacts that can be used to enhance land NFT. The resulting plots will be among the most valuable land tiles in the game. The Ever Crystals are also NFTs that are transferable and sold to other players.
There are two ways to use the Ever Crystals; one is while minting land, the other is to enhance the minted land. This makes the Ever Crystals not a requirement for minting land, but it is strongly recommended should you want more valuable land. The only way to use the Ever Crystals after minting land is to attach them onto the land plots after being generated to enhance the minted plot. However, the enhancements will not provide as powerful or valuable benefits.
Ever Crystals
The Ever Crystals NFTs will provide values in multiple ways:
- Minting a land with an Ever Crystal will make the plot go through an algorythmic pipeline that generates a procedural, and a unique land NFT. For example it could modify the land’s rough geographical features, such as mountains and rivers, resulting in beautiful and incredible landscapes whose rarity is based on a specific set of traits.
- Enhancing a minted land NFT by attaching an Ever Crystal to the plot still provides benefits, just not as powerful or valuable as minting the land with an Ever Crystal. This means you can enhance AFTER land has been minted. You do not need to mint a land with an Ever Crystal.
- As importantly, these particular plots of land will generate higher income than regular plots as their resource production attributes will be significantly enhanced.
- Before and after land generation, holders of Ever Fragments can always combine their Fragments into Ever Crystals, and they can trade with other players to combine their fragments and create unique and powerful Ever Crystals.
With this new game feature, current holders of the Chosen will gain this passive income from the periodic airdrops of Ever Fragment NFTs, as holding a Chosen character is the only way to receive an Ever Fragment without going through trading or purchasing. This feature will not only reap the gameplay benefits derived from the character, but they will also be able to sculpt unique parts of the world of Civitas.
