Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Python Raid! If you missed out on our previous guides to the Python, Havok, Pantahras, Nhumer and Kraken Raids you can read them here:

Players will probably recognize the Flame Drake from Along with the Gods’ title screen and social media and this fearsome Boss deserves their status. The Drakes in the Ancient God Dungeon Raids are the end-game Bosses of Along with the Gods, especially on their highest difficulty setting of Hard. The rewards for completing the Drake Raids are well worth it however, with several highly prized items being given to players.

You can receive Legendary Hero Scroll pieces, Mythical Hero Scroll pieces, Styx Light Shards, Keys and Mileage Points, with the higher value drops of Awakening Incarnations, Styx Light Shards and Mythical Hero Scroll Pieces dropping more frequently at the higher levels of difficulty. Farming the Drake Raids are the most efficient method of obtaining Awakening Incarnations in the game, and are incredibly valuable as a resource.

These Drake Raids will be the truest test of your team’s PvE capabilities in the game. Read on to find out how to prepare yourself for the ultimate challenge.

The Drake Raid has three versions, corresponding with the Attributes of Earth, Fire and Water and three difficulty settings for each of Easy, Normal, Hard. The Drake Raid is only available at certain times of the day. Each Raid session rotates through the different versions of the Drake Boss so take note of the times and which Drake is available.

While they may have different Attributes, their core abilities and strategy are similar, you’ll just have to adjust for the Attribute match-up and the differences between Heroes of each Attribute.

Drake Skills Breakdown

All three versions of the Ancient Drake Raid Boss are classified as Melee enemies and will deal Physical damage with their attacks and so the general strategy is similar for each.

Deadly Blow inflicts 200% Physical damage on all your team members while also Stunning them for 2 seconds. This attack has a short recovery time and you need to be careful, having Heroes who can help your team resist Inability Effects is going to be important to prevent you from constantly being Stunned.

Evil Wings drops meteors from the sky to inflict 230% physical damage on all enemies with 5 hits. It also puts the target under Slowdown effect, by 50%, for 7 seconds and decreases your Attack Power, by 30%, for 10 seconds.

Destruction in Dark shoots a powerful laser to all enemies to inflict 270% physical damage and removes all beneficial effects. This is a devastating attack that deals large damage to all your Heroes while removing their beneficial effects.

The Drake’s Heart passive is the primary reason that Attribute match-up is so important in the Ancient Drake Raids and makes using Attribute weak Heroes inadvisable. It enhances the Drake’s Attribute advantage by 20%, in addition to the base 30% buff/debuff from Attribute match-ups.

The Strong Scale passive allows a Drake to recover 1% HP for each attack it evades. This means having Heroes with high accuracy through Runes, Skills and Passives is important as missed attacks can quickly replenish a Drake’s health bar and make them difficult to finish off.

Team Tips and Battle Strategy

You’ll want to build a team that is resilient to Physical attacks as Ancient Drakes are Melee enemies with high Physical damage output. You can achieve this by using Heroes that boost your team’s Defense or negate damage, such as Divana and Atmos. You’ll also need to balance this defensive solidity with enough offensive output to finish the Drakes within a reasonable period of time to prevent them from receiving their Attack power and Attack Speed boosts as the battle grows longer. Your Support Heroes should also be able to keep your team healthy with healing abilities that can outpace the amount of damage being done by the Drake and prevent your team from being wiped out.

Your team will need to be fully evolved and Awakened to complete Easy stages while Normal and Hard will require you to Transcend some or all of your Heroes to complete them, especially if you want to farm these stages reliably. Accuracy is an important aspect of the Drake Raid that shouldn’t be overlooked, as each missed attack will lead to 1% of the Drake’s HP being recovered, and this can quickly stack up, which compounds the issue of not being able to land damage on the Drake.

You can implement damage over time effects such as Bleed and Poison to help combat this ability. Time is very much of the essence here. Other helpful effects in general include any Defense lowering effects, especially Lin’s Armor Break effect, Slowdown and Weaken to reduce the Drake’s damage and make him easier to take down quickly.

You should also make sure you have powerful Leader Skills such as Prospera, Styx and Atmos to maximize your team’s capabilities.

One unique element of these battles is that as time goes on the Drakes receive boosts to both their Attack Power and Attack Speed, so it’s imperative that you end the battle quickly before they become overwhelmingly powerful. After a boost or two Ancient Drakes can become incredibly difficult to combat so you need to keep this in mind when deciding on how to approach the Drake Raid.

Recommended Heroes

We’ll break down which Heroes to to use in each Drake Raid by Attribute. In general you’ll want to use Heroes that either have, ideally, the Attribute advantage or are Attribute neutral.

We strongly advise against using Heroes with a weak Attribute match-up due to the inherent strength of the Drakes as well as their Passive Drake’s Heart, with exceptions for cases, such as using Prospera in the Flame Drake Raid for her universally useful Leader Skill. Due to the Drakes’ strength the best Heroes to use are generally Ancient Gods and others in the upper echelon of Heroes such as Lin and Glen.

Water Attribute Heroes

Zemer is a Water Tank Hero with several important Skills for assisting your team, especially with his Inability Resistance Effects and boosts to your team’s Physical Defense.

You can read more about him here:

Oliver is one of the marquee Heroes in Along with the Gods and she shines in the Ancient Drake Raids. While one of her best assets, the ability to Transform opponents into squirrels, is negated against Raid Bosses, she’s still highly effective, especially with her ability to block an enemy from healing. Drakes recover 1% HP for each attack evaded which can quickly stack up so this is a very helpful ability. Oliver is also relatively easy to obtain and Transcend given that she’s a Combination Hero in the Temple of Heroes.

Atmos is an Ancient Goddess Hero and is also the strongest Tank in the game. She provides numerous game changing benefits such as providing a Shield which negates damage, as well as protecting your team from all Harmful Effects. Atmos is highly recommended for use in the Storm and Flame Drake Raids.

Melvin is the most easily acquired and upgraded Heroes on this list and despite being a natural 3-star Hero is one of the best Raid Heroes in the game. With the correct Runes and Awakenings he becomes extremely durable and capable of surviving and inflicting a steady stream of damage throughout a battle. He also reduces the enemy’s Attack while boosting your team’s Critical Hit rate too. You can read more about Melvin in his Hero Spotlight article here:

Elheim is a Raid specialist Magic Hero and is a reliable damage nuke, especially against Fire Attribute enemies. Her HP% attacks and Poison effects are a highly effective method of bringing down Raid Bosses’ HP and she’s on the level of Alexis when it comes to PvE situations.

Ramia is the most prominent of the Water Support Heroes, and she possesses several unique characteristics that make her a good pick against the Flame Drake Raid Boss. Ramia also has the ability to disturb harmful effect removal which can help keep your team in tip-top shape.

Alexis is an Ancient God Hero and stands out as one of the most powerful damage dealing Heroes in the game and is an extremely useful Hero in any given scenario. He will be a key Hero, especially in the Flame and Storm Drake Raids.

Earth Attribute Heroes

Lin is the Queen of Raids and her ability to deal large amounts of damage to Raid Bosses while also supporting the rest of your team will be invaluable, especially when she has the Attribute advantage as she does against the Storm Drake. She will likely be your MVP in the Storm Drake Raid.

Patricia is one of the premier Magic Heroes in Along with the Gods, and her incredible damage output combined with her various debuffs makes her an incredibly useful Hero in both PvP and PvE situations.

Blith is one of the sturdiest Tanks in the game and as a natural 4-star Hero is easily acquired and upgraded. He provides a range of Support functions such as buffing your team as well as providing substantial healing, which is unique and very helpful coming from the Tank slot.

Marcus is an underrated Earth Support Hero with several highly desirable abilities for the Drake Raids. He can bestow the Vampire Effect on his allies while also healing them and inflicting a number of debuffs on his opponents.

Glen is one of the best Melee Heroes in the game and he shines against the Storm and Earth Drakes. Runed and Awakened correctly he has the bulk to rival any Tank while also being able to deal the damage of a top-tier Melee Hero.

Prospera is an Ancient God Hero and her Leader Skill, which increases the health of all Heroes in the backline by 50%, is one of the best in the game. Besides her excellent and incredibly useful Leader Skill, she’s a great Hero in her own right with several Skills that deal great damage as well as boost herself and her teammate.

Divana is one of the best Support Heroes in the game and is especially suited to performing well in the Drake Raids. Her unique ability to create a shield for herself and all allies which negates any and all damage is invaluable and one of the most powerful Skills in the game. She can also heal your team and provide buffs to Physical Defense and Attack which are, again, well-suited to the Ancient Drake Raids.

Fire Attribute Heroes

Styx is the premier Support Hero in Along with the Gods and his unique Skills and abilities will be invaluable against the Ancient Drake Raid Bosses, particularly the Earth and Flame Drakes. His Leader Skill is also very useful, giving a 20% boost to the Attack and Magic Attack of all backline members.

Currently Styx is available from the Temple of Heroes through Light Shard summoning. You can get Styx without having to randomly obtain him from a summon scroll from Light Shards as rewards from Daily and Weekly Quests as well as from the Ancient God Pack in the Shop. Styx Light Shards also drop as a reward from the Drake Raid.

You can read more about Styx here:

Massa is a recently released Fire Melee Hero who rivals, and in some players’ eyes, surpasses Mei for the title of best Fire Melee Hero. She possesses HP% attacks which make her a fine choice against Raid Bosses as well as possessing innate Vampire effects on her attacks which helps her to sustain herself on the battlefield.

Mei is an Ancient Goddess Hero and a powerful Fire Melee Hero. She’s one of the most popular options for the Earth Drake Raids due to her abilities. Mei possesses the ability to inflict various Effects with her attacks while maintaining a high damage output.

Lizzy is a powerful Fire Ranged Hero with several useful characteristics in helping take down the Drake Raid Boss. She has several attacks which hit multiple times and have guaranteed Critical hits, which become incredibly powerful when she is Transcended.

We hope that you enjoyed this guide and that it helps you conquer the Drake Raids. Let us know your tips or any other thoughts you have in the comments!
