PLA Migration — Unlocking the true potential of your PLA
From Security improvements to enhanced features, things are getting better!
We’re always improving and making things better here at PlayDapp. As part of that, we have some very important news for you. As we make PLA, the token of the PlayDapp Ecosystem, even better we need you to take an incredibly important step.
If you hold Game Issued PLA, you’ll need to Migrate it to PLA 1.0, to take advantage of all the future use cases for it. Not only that but PLA 1.0 will have some incredibly important features. Such as, stop issuing — in case we need to pause the distribution of PLA during a security breach. It will also have markers for distribution to groups, making sure that groups issued PLA are treated fairly.
We’ve broken down the PLA Migration into two easy steps. Simply follow the steps and before you know it you’ll have all your PLA Migrated into PLA 1.0! This process will involve a few steps. Including KYC and while waiting for the final Migration you will not be able to use or access your PLA.
This guide will take you through the steps necessary, letting you know what to expect with completing the PLA Migration process.
We strongly suggest using chrome browser while running the Migration Service.
Important information regarding Migration. PLA Migration is limited to one account per person, based on provided KYC information. Additionally, the Migration Service will be available for one month from initial launch date. The close date will be 09/28/20. For verification selfi The project name is “PlayDapp”.
You’ll need to connect the wallet that holds your PLA to our Migration Service, by default we have designed the tool to work seamlessly with Either Metamask or Portis wallet.
Navigate to https://migration.playdapp.io/ to begin the process.
Simply select the wallet that you are using and click connect to begin.
PLA Migration Service Overview
After connecting you’ll be connected to the PLA Migration Service, here you’ll find an overview of your PLA amount and the necessary steps for Migration.
Stage 1 — Know Your Customer (KYC)
This is the most important step involved, fail to properly fulfill KYC and you’ll be in for a world of issues.
As with all Token issuing to be fully compliant, you’ll need to go through the KYC process. We’ve selected a third-party solution that we believe will make the whole process incredibly smooth. However, you’ll still need to provide certain details and a valid ID.
Stage 1.A — KYC Process
We’re using Argos solutions to implement our KYC process.
When starting KYC the first step will be to validate an email address.
Fill in the email address, click “send verification code” and once you receive the verification email, enter the enclosed code, and click Verify.
This will take you to the next step of KYC.
Once you have verified your email, you’ll start the process of submitting KYC details.
Step 1. Please submit your personal details, Name, Nationality, Date of Birth, and gender.
Step 2. Documentation upload. You’ll need to provide a valid ID. This can be a Drivers License, Passport, or Government-issued ID.
You’ll need to make sure that the information page is clearly visible, in date, all corners visible in the submitted image.
After you have uploaded an approved ID you will need to also submit a Selfie with the same ID. You’ll need to include the project name on a sticky note or similar in your selfie. The project name is “PlayDapp”.
Step 3. The last step is to select the Virtual Asset type and submit your recipient Wallet Address.
Then agree to the Privacy Policy, and confirm that you have correctly submitted the necessary details.
Click the verify button and then once verification is complete, click Submit.
This will be the end of KYC, and you are ready to move on to Stage 2 of the PLA Migration service.
Please note that KYC can take multiple days. So please allow time, you’ll receive emails to confirm KYC and to inform you if your KYC was successful or not. If you have any issues or technical problems it is strongly recommended that you consult the official documentation from Argos.
Stage 2 — Confirm your held PLA amount
The PlayDapp Migration tool will automatically check the amount of PLA you have and show you the amount that it will be migrated to.
These two amounts should match. You’ll have to confirm the amount by clicking on the confirmation button. This is an important step as it will lock in the amount of Game issued PLA being Migrated.
Stage 3 — Request the Migration process.
Perhaps the most important step of all. You’ll need to request the Migration.
When you do it is important to note that after this stage you will no longer have access to your Game issued PLA. So if you have any last game purchases then you will want to make sure that everything is finished.
Stage 4 — PLA 1.0 Reaches your wallet.
Post listing for exchange PLA will be fully tradeable and sendable. And so will your current allotment.
After the migration application, the acceptance and quantity will be decided after individual application review.
