PlayDapp’s Head of Marketing, Mark Lee spoke at the NFT & Digital Assets Grand Webinar 2021 hosted by Etnews on July 9th.

In the first quarter of 2021, the NFT market grew explosively and recorded record sales. According to Coindesk, NFT trading volume increased about 25 times from $9.3 million in December 2020 to $226 million in March 2021. NFT, which started with gaming applications, is gaining huge popularity by expanding to artworks, media, content, and music based on digital scarcity and ownership.

With the NFT market exploding around the world, operators in various fields are entering the NFT market one after another, leading this expansion is the game item NFT market.

PlayDapp’s Mark Lee delivered a research-oriented presentation on the recently released demonstration case of PlayDapp, under the theme of “Activating NFT Marketplace <PlayDapp> Strategy and Building a C2C Ecosystem.”

Mark explained in his presentation that one of the core blockchain features is that it can record data in a publicly viewable database. One that allows for open and transparent data views. This is the biggest difference between Legacy Games and Blockchain Games. It also allows, when storing data in the blockchain, to give ownership of digital assets to users. Additionally, items are fully owned and controlled by the owner, thus allowing independent trade between users, creating a new business model.

In addition, CryptoDozer, which was released in March 2019, ranked first within four months of its release, while Dozerbird, a follow-up game, was able to rank at the top of the list in a relatively short time due to the influence of the pre-released CryptoDozer, which thanks to its interconnected nature and natural cross-promotion effect.

Mark also explained that the effect of item interoperation also contributes to increasing the life span of each product. In particular, the casual games “CryptoDozer” and “DozerBird” have relatively simple play methods, so the natural life cycle is not long, but as a result of item interoperation, the average stay time of CryptoDozer increased by 75.2%.

Finally, regarding the activation strategy of PlayDapp’s C2C Marketplace, ‘PlayDapp.com’ Mark spoke about PlayDapp’s recently conducted NFT presale as well as plans to introduce the PlayDapp Town NFT Merge function.

This new function will allow owners to upgrade the value of NFT items to a higher level by adding merging and reinforcement functions to NFT items acquired in-game. Through this, it is predicted that exchange, purchase, etc. can be promoted by giving each NFT value for use as well as the current value of rare NFT.
