What is Chronos?
Chronos is a post-apocalyptic 2D action RPG game where you will use your traveler to fight fierce enemies and build your empire as you explore the different worlds on an adventure that defies space and time!
Game Overview
- Build
As you advance through the game, you’ll actively expand your civilization, construct your village, and unlock new rooms and features. You’ll be able to upgrade your character or craft items using some of these elements, while others will offer special functionalities to help you in growing your community.
- Improve
With your chosen play style, your Travelers will develop and evolve. You’ll have the power to actively upgrade your character attributes, install new part upgrades, and equip new weapons to further enhance your gameplay experience. The customization options are vast and offer both cosmetic and additional stats to strengthen your character.
- Combat and Exploration
Combat will vary depending on how you would like to enjoy the game. You can defeat monsters and conquer lands by being a full-melee warrior, an agile ninja, or even a powerful magic wielder. Gaming would not get boring as you can participate in speedrunning dungeons and reaching new, uncharted territories.
As you engage in combat and exploration, you’ll be rewarded with valuable loot. Some items you acquire can be used instantly, such as potions or traps, while others can be utilized as crafting materials for more complex items, such as grenades or even upgrades for your Travelers
- Team up and socialize
Experience a whole new dimension of gameplay as you traverse into other dimensions and interact with other players. From visiting friends to embarking on co-op adventures and battling it out on PvP matches, the possibilities for social interaction are endless. Some dungeon levels are specifically designed to facilitate these interactions, while others serve to drive the overarching storyline or present combat or platforming challenges.
- Trade and Earn!
Throughout your journey, you’ll obtain varying collections of resources and items that you can trade or sell to other players. Additionally, by using Dark Aether (the in-game currency, not a token), you can earn Ethereum rewards.
The Chronos economy is thoughtfully designed to be fully sustainable and centered around our players’ needs and preferences.
Game Modes
The Dungeon
- To ensure the success of your civilization, the growth of your character, and to uncover the secrets and mysteries of the dawn of time, you must explore the dungeons that lie beneath the surface.
- These dungeons are connected through strange portals, leading to even more discoveries and adventures where you will finish the storyline, combat hordes of enemies, and even battle it out against other players in PvP!
The Village
- This will serve as your community that you get to build and manage. The village is where your characters, called Travelers, will live and grow stronger. You can utilize your resources to equip your character with agility, intelligence, and other skills to improve on.
Other rooms will have tools to make cool stuff like potions or equipment. And as your village gets bigger, you can get more Travelers to help out while you’re exploring dungeons or even when you are offline!
There are also special rooms that you can unlock as you progress throughout the game, some of which are the expedition center, interdimensional breach, and more.
Dark Aether
In Chronos, Dark Aether is the most crucial resource. You can obtain it by participating in various activities throughout the game, such as fusing lower-grade aether, trading with merchants, and rewards from defeating enemies, destroying boss battles, and winning PvP battles.
Dark Aether is a valuable asset to obtain in-game, it’s use cases include:
- Leveling up the Traveler attributes.
- Crafting parts, clothes, and implants.
- Buying and selling items with merchants.
- Summoning new Travelers.
- Crafting items.
- Speed-ups.
- Increasing entropy, which earns skill points and unlocks abilities.
- And so much more.
Scholarship System
Chronos is a game for everyone. Despite the game having free-to-play options, developers have emphasized the importance of scholarships and players utilizing assets at their optimum level.
The scholarship structure of Chronos will start (and not be limited to) two different types:
- Farmers: They are the master crafters of the game. The farmers will strive to achieve maximum efficiency (meta) by crafting the appropriate assets which require an in-depth understanding of the game and careful planning. These items will be sought out by the competitive players to expand their strategies in battle.
- Competitive players: Whether you play alone or with a team, there are different ways to be at the top of the game. You’ll need to have both skill and knowledge about the game to formulate strategies with your teammates to defeat important enemies, and other PvP teams.
There will be tournaments with different rewards, so you can show off your skills and win cool prizes!
