A Conversation with Sera-Lys McArthur
The actress talks about resilience, and finding her place in the entertainment industry.
Sera-Lys McArthur knows what it takes to have a lasting career in the entertainment industry. The Canadian actress booked her first film at the age of 13, and has been working and training ever since.
McArthur is a screen and stage actor, producer, and model. At the age of 18, she moved to NYC to study musical theatre, and later went on to earn her MA in Acting from East 15 Acting School, the University of Essex, UK.

Can you tell us a bit about your character on the CW’s Burden of Truth?
Her name is Kodie Chartrand, she is of Ojibwe heritage, and she is the girlhood best friend of the lead character, Joanna Chang (Kristin Kreuk). The two of them have not seen each other in about 20 years, and have recently been reunited. Kodie is a recovering addict and a single mother of two beautiful young daughters.
