NBC’s drama Nurses aired January 6th, 2020, only a few months before the Coronavirus shut down the country. Who could foresee just how timely this show — which focuses on the lives of five young nurses working on the frontlines of a hospital in downtown Toronto — would be?

Despite the current uncertainty of when the entertainment industry will be fully up and running again, one of the show’s stars, Natasha Calis, took the time to share with Players, Performers, & Portrayers a bit about her journey from child actress to rising star!

Can you tell us a bit about your role on the new NBC series “Nurses”?

I play Ashley Collins — she’s fierce, witty, sarcastic and edgy. She lives for the “fast pace” of St. Mary’s, a busy downtown hospital, and thrives on the adrenaline that comes with being an ER nurse.
