Brynn Thayer, actress and playwright, got her start in the industry playing the role of Jenny Wolek on the soap opera One Life to Live for eight years. Now, her new “dark-ish” comedy Let Me In, is playing at Theatre 68 in Los Angeles:

Life takes an unpredictable turn for the bride’s best friend and the intended groom when a wedding becomes a funeral in this new comedy that is (most probably) based on true events.

Tell us about your show, ‘Let Me In.’ What inspired you to write it, and what did your process look like?

BRYNN THAYER: LET ME IN is a darkish comedy about love and loss and how we all navigate grief. My best friend died in a car accident when I was in my twenties, and like so many others, I had to figure out how to move through my life without her.

What is the hardest thing about writing about such a personal topic? What were some of the roadblocks you came up against?
