Making games is hard. Adding blockchain features makes it even harder.

Building web3 games adds twice as much complexity to the game development process compared to traditional games. Game studios have to hire blockchain engineers, design token economies, write smart contracts, integrate tokens and NFTs (non-fungible games) into their games, and much more. This increases game development cost, time to market, and overall risk.

Still, game developers need to make this leap, because blockchain technology is what is now driving the growth of the gaming industry. In fact, blockchain gaming is creating the very future of the economy.

“Thanks to the immutability, and veracity of blockchains, every tokenized in-game item acquired really can belong to the players themselves. In blockchain gaming, users do not have to rely on the permissions or rules of game publishers and creators, and any NFT’s they own can be sold freely on secondary marketplaces both inside and outside of the game.

“This fast-developing new type of gaming will redefine how users interact with and perceive traditional socioeconomic structures like financial institutions, marketplaces, and governments.”

As if acquiring these new skills wasn’t already a challenge, game developers must also come out with titles that will excite players and keep them engaged. The reality, however, is that many blockchain games are interchangeable and fail to inspire.

“Blockchain technology has the potential to empower players in an unprecedented fashion, enfranchising users as partners with financial compensation and governance ability. However, these factors alone cannot drive mass adoption when the games themselves lack depth and immersion.

“How many blockchain games have lore or world building? Where is the community-driven content and engagement on social media? It’s difficult to even find YouTube or Twitch gameplay of crypto games that supposedly have hundreds of thousands of users.”

That’s why Playfix aims to make life easier for game developers by taking care of the technology and infrastructure. So that they can focus on what they do best: making fun games.

Playfix provides a robust set of developer APIs. Instead of having to cobble together multiple services, game developers will benefit from an integrated platform with all the APIs they need to build blockchain games.

These developer APIs include:

  1. Project API for managing game projects
  2. Token API for building and tracking token economies
  3. NFT API for creating and managing NFT collections
  4. Wallet API to manage custodial game wallets

Make no mistake, blockchain gaming is here to stay. Blockchain and gaming are transforming each other in ways that we might not even be able to imagine yet, because it’s still early days.

It’s a brave new world for game developers. With Playfix as their secret weapon, they can get ready for the future and level up their game.
