Deon has over two decades of industry experience and brings a wealth of expertise to the role. He is currently the UK Managing Director of Ortec Finance, a leading global provider of technology and solutions for risk and return management, enabling institutions and individuals to manage their investment decisions.
Prior to Ortec Finance, Deon was a Director at Insight Investment, before which he held key consulting roles at PwC, Aon Hewitt and Barclays Capital. He has worked in the investment industry since 1996.
Most relevant to his role at Plethori is his experience in;
- derivative trading and structuring (including the creation of a range of ETFs);
- guiding investment decision-making with new technologies and industry insights;
- incorporating climate aware scenario analysis into strategic asset allocation decisions;
- performance measurement, attribution and risk management;

Deon has always worked at the intersection of investments and technology having started out developing actuarial valuation systems, modelling ETFs and creating systems to automatically monitor and manage these ETFs. His own personal crypto investment journey has spanned a number of years, embracing everything from cloud native institutional grade monitoring and analysis systems to finding ways to embrace blockchain for use in the Pensions environment.
Combining this affinity for traditional finance with decentralised finance; proven principles with novel technologies; Deon will help guide decision-making processes as Plethori grows and its decisions become of greater economic and ethical importance.
