Plottr 1.0 launched back in October 2017 (nearly 6 months ago) and it’s been such a whirlwind of excitement and small updates that I’ve forgotten to keep this development log current.

Before I list updates, I just want to thank users everywhere for using Plottr and for all the feedback and suggestions I get. I get emails every week from people saying how Plottr is exactly what they’ve always needed and how finally there is a tool that works like their brain thinks.

And now on to the updates:

Ease of Use

Lots of improvements to ease of use. Things such as

  • Everything saves when you navigate away from it! No more accidental lost work
  • Editing and closing cards
  • Creating cards
  • Sort characters and places
  • Better options to report errors and problems to me

Visual

  • Dark mode ftw!
  • Larger fonts!
  • A new icon! (if you hadn’t noticed already)
  • Much better color picker
  • Custom attributes dialog looks better.

Bug fixes

I’m not going to go into detail because you’ll get bored, but a lot of minor bugs were squashed and I wanted to mention it.

Things you don’t care about

  • Making each build is much easier.
  • Code signing certificates! Those will get rid of those annoying warnings when you try to install Plottr.
  • You can now buy the full version right from the trial version and it enters in the license key for you in one smooth workflow so you don’t lose your work.
  • Better handling of weird issues so Plottr doesn’t crash and you don’t lose your work.
  • Performance improvements

There are a ton more little improvements but i don’t want to list every single one. So many of those improvements have come from users’ ideas. Thank you!
