Plug 0.5.4: A House Cleaning Update 🧹🧹
In this update, we’re making sure the house is in order before the new V0.6 arc starts!
Wait, didn’t we come out with Network Selection a couple weeks ago?! We’re back with another update 🤯
This week, we’re doing a little house cleaning and bug squashing to make sure we’re ready to party again in V0.6 🎉 This includes:
- Send Flow Code-Refactor
- Human-Readable Error Alerts
- Frontend Code Restructuring
- Bug Fixes
Download the latest version of Plug (0.5.4) Chrome Web Store, & Firefox Add-on Store, or download from GitHub!
What’s The Focus 🔎
Though fully functional, the code for our send process has been a bit fragmented and disjoint. With 0.5.4 we’ve redone the send flow from a code-first perspective, without making any changes to how it behaves on the UI.
This comes from a greater effort by the Plug core team to revisit old code early and often to avoid bad code bloat slowing us (or anyone else wanting to build with Plug) down in the future.
Additionally, we’ve axed the ‘Something went wrong, try again’ error message, and now provide detailed & human-readable error alerts. If something goes wrong, you’ll know exactly what. You’re welcome, Plug support team 😉
And finally, we squashed that pesky bug that caused Sonic logs to display incorrectly ❌ 🦟
A Look Behind the Curtains 🧑💻
Seeing as Plug is open source, we’re committed to ramping up our efforts to be transparent in our development practices. Let’s dive in!
✅ Plug’s frontend directory structure saw a reorganization.
✅ We introduced automated QA testing to turbo zap any pesky bug.
That’s all Folks!
While users will see some QOL improvements with this update, the real fun starts in the Plug V0.6 arc. What can you expect?
- Hardware Wallet Integration
- Multiple Identity Imports
…and much more! 🕺
