At Pluot we support remotes and distributed teams with easy video conferencing. That’s free web meetings. Also, for your conference room TV, we provide affordable big screen meetings. Free hardware & pay monthly for service; no contract required.

The growth in remote work is amazing. Our Remote Roundup looks at trends & stories from and for digital nomads, remotes, and distributed teams. We’d love to hear your own! Reach us at @pluotco.

Indonesia: Unsettled Adventures, via The Yard
  • Say hello to Bali: NY-based coworking space The Yard is partnering with Unsettled Adventures to gift two members a Bali coworking retreat, complete with curated social and networking events, and of course, plenty of quality beach time.
  • Amazing live-work spaces: an 1862 farmhouse in Quebec, an 118-year-old Victorian in San Francisco, and a converted 1870 Ontario woolen mill are some of the structures transformed by artists and creatives working from home. They talk to Houzz about the emotional and design challenges in balancing personal and work space, and developing a place that inspires and rejuvenates.
  • Honey, I’m home: Work-from-home couples are balancing both business and cohabitation in this remote work era. Via @nytstyles.
  • Who’s really successful: In his widely shared Medium post, Dan Kim gives a pointed critique of Marissa Meyer’s gospel of long hours and weekend work, and articulates a defense of remote work grounded in his idea of success.
  • It’s remote that works: Paul Farnell doesn’t think it’s remote work that hinders collaboration. In describing how Litmus decided to allow their employees to work from anywhere, Farnell talks about why it’s offices that hinder independent work.
  • A successful remote culture: Use plain, human language; communicate decisions clearly via email; and make room for the quiet voices — just a few insights the Hypothesis team has learned from working with no central office across four different countries and timezones.
