Using social media is one of the most common things in today’s world, peoples who do not use social media are negligible, a tremendous amount of people are tremendously using social media without thinking about anything, their time, money, career, family, nothing.

LIVING IN PSEUDO REALITY

Living in pseudo-reality means judging each other by the followers of social media, comparing the followers and likes in social media.

Remember last time liked some post on social media, ask yourself, do you really liked it or not, the comment you wrote you mean it or not.

Everyone knows that we do not actually lie about any post, we just do it for timepass, for pretending to be busy, we just pass our time because we have nothing to do, actually, we don’t like any post.

Everyone knows this reality but still when someone liked their post, they feel happiness.

BEING ADDICTIVE

We discussed the addiction to social media in our last article, every single notification, and appreciation gives you a secretion of dopamine in your mind, that secretion of dopamine gives you the feeling of happiness or fack feeling of achievement.

When dopamine continuously releases in the mind throughout the day, and even every day, before sleeping after arriving, it becomes our addiction.

People are even getting depressed by using social media, and there is a simple reason behind that the reason is “comparison”.

Peoples only upload pictures on social media in which they look happy, when people who are a little sad seen those pictures, they compare their self with others and become even more depressed.

They easily become sad when their post got less number of “fack likes”.

And it is very shocking to know that social media is one of the most important factors in decreasing our attention span. The attention span of humans is decreasing every single day, peoples are not able to focus on a single task for a long time. We started judging things very quickly, this thing is boring and this thing is interesting.

SINCE THERE ARE SEVERAL NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA THEN HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY?

It is not very easy or even possible to just quit social media, then what we can do, I thought a lot about every negative impact of social media then I end up with some shortcuts that we can use to reduce the negative impacts of social media.

Maybe you are a business owner or your work is connected to social media, like me, then you can’t avoid social media, but you can definitely avoid the addiction.

The notifications are the main reason for your addiction because when you listen to the notification ringtone and when you see a notification on the notification bar, your mind releases dopamine at that instant, and you go to social media.

Suppose If there is no notification, then you will reduce the number of times you visit social media.

FOR THIS YOU CAN JUST SIMPLY TURN OFF THE NOTIFICATION FOR SOCIAL MEDIA APP.

One of the most important thing that one should do while using social media is time restrictions. As I told you in my previous article, An average person spends around 6 to 7 hours a day just surfing social media.

So, this is very dangerous, the most obvious negative impact of social media is it consumes your time, it wastes your time to be more precise.

So, you have to restrict yourself from wasting time surfing on social media.

You have to fix time for your social media surfing. Like 30 minutes a day is more than sufficient.
So you have to simply restrict yourself to use social media for 6 or 7 hours. You just have to make yourself to use it for only 30 minutes 20 minutes a day.

FIND PURPOSE TO USE SOCIAL MEDIA

Honestly ask yourself, why do you use social media? Is there any purpose behind you are using it, or you are just using it. If you are using social media without any purpose, then you should use it for only 20 to 30 minutes, that’s it.

But if you are using social media for a purpose like you have a business that is going online, you are connected to your customers on social media, you are a blogger, YouTuber, you are using social media for your purpose, then it’s good to use it. But you should follow the first precaution, don’t be addictive, just remember it.

If you are using it without any purpose then simply restrict yourself to use it only for 20–30 munites.

In these 20 to 30 minutes, you can do something productive, like following such pages that are related to your field of work. Don’t follow such unnecessary pages, who are just showing the photos of bikini models.

This means the thing I have to say to you is if you are using social media for 20 to 30 minutes then, find a purpose to use it. Don’t just use it.
