I think everyone wonders about how COVID-19 will come to an end? What’s it like to be a survivor of such a deadly virus? Will everything be normal anytime soon or is it ever gonna be normal? like everyone else I also think about it. Thinking of it brings some new questions like normal… what was normal? Are we really want everything back?

As Dave Hollis said

“In the rush to get back to normal, use this time to decide which parts of normal are worth rushing back to”

I think that After COVID-19, there will be a new definition of normal. This COVID thing changes everything. At this moment everyone is suffering its consequences even if he didn’t get infected.

Several developed countries went into recession and others are on the verge of it. In-person jobs were shifted to online jobs. Most of the working people lose their jobs. This is all due to COVID-19. So what happens when it all will come to an end. After it, everything will be changed.

I think the following are the things that have been changed or will be changed.

Lockdown 2.0

After the first lockdown, peoples were trying to cope with its effect and trying to again continue their routine lives. It does not remain that way. COVID starts spreading again but this time with pace. In some countries, this second wave of COVID is very extreme. So to stop it the government of these countries announced lockdown 2.0 and named it smart lockdown. But sure this time it is different, this time lockdown was not a surprise for them. So mentally they were ready. This affects the economy for sure but there’s no other way, at least for now, to stop it from spreading. Life in a limited space i.e. lockdown, then again free life, and then again lockdown, all shows that we(humans) are very adaptable.

An extraordinary tally on healthcare workers:

In this pandemic not only the economy gets affected but also healthcare staff. There is a greater risk for those who are working in the frontline to tackle this problem.

Director of the Institute for Biosecurity at Saint Louis University and a nurse researcher said:

“The anxiety of knowing you might be at risk when you’re doing your job can be very challenging for health care workers. It’s physically and mentally draining.”

Shortage of medical supplies and equipment

This crisis proves that our entire world has a shortage of and limited medical facilities and supplies. Our hospitals needed an upgrade so in future we don’t have to face difficulties in providing suitable medical facilities at the right moment. We must have an efficient healthcare system.

Decreasing the trust among others

The dealings take place across the world usually based on trust. Before this pandemic we can go anywhere we want without any restrictions. Due to lockdown, spending most of the year limited to their homes, the behavior of billions of peoples changes. Now there’ll always a doubt that may be the person sitting next to them will be infected until they formulating the COVID-19 vaccine. Countries like the U.K. considering changing the type of passports and visas like immunity passports. Maybe as time passes it becomes necessary to have this type of passport for international travel. There will always be some uncertainty in the eyes of people.

Survival of the fittest

I am sure that you heard this line or saying

Survival of the Fittest

Basically, it is the Darwinian Evolutionary Theory. Generally, it is purposed by Darwin about living things explaining that only the fittest one (species)with greater qualities will survive and others will extinct.

During this tragic event, the researchers believe that businesses will also follow this rule. After the end of the first lockdown, masks,hand-sanitizers, and social distancing became necessary and a rule to cope with this situation.

Businesses like restaurants were facing problems due to the unavailability of necessary space and they began to shut down. So only restaurants with much space will be left. In this race, the weak one will die and the strong one will live to see the light of another day.

What will be the new normal

So now what will be the new normal after COVID-19. We will observe people wearing masks in public places and maintaining their distance from others. Even if it will not be mandatory. There will be temperature checks everywhere like hospitals, shops, airports, and restaurants. COVID also affects the ways how we conduct businesses. In the pre-COVID state, most of the businesses were offline, meetings were held in old and typical ways like in one room. But in COVID state and after COVID state meetings are online without appearing physically in a room.

New beginning

Published in Dezeen

Life after the Covid-19 outbreak will never be the same. We are at the beginning of the end, waiting for a new beginning. Planet Earth will break its cooperation agreement with mankind unless we urgently revise our behaviour.

There’s no doubt that there will be a new beginning of the world after the mass number of deaths like earthquakes in Shaanxi, China in 1556, and Haiti in 2010, and natural extreme disasters.

There’s a quote from the X-men: Apocalypse. I think it worth writing:

“Everything they’ve built will fall! And from the ashes of their world, we’ll built a better one”

Let's not talk about humans for a second, have a slight look at animals' world. What do you think happened after this recent bushfire in Australia? Reports show that it was the worst fire season on record. According to CNN, Nearly three billion animals were killed and displaced by this devastating fire. So have any guesses. For sure their lives were never the same. The fear of fire and the intensity of heat, now it’s all become part of their lives.

This beginning will leads researchers and scientists to formulate a cure for the expected diseases so that diseases never become such deadly. It leads architecture to design independent buildings, societies, and even cities that have an unlimited supply of water, heated buildings, and other important things. So every building will have supplies to cope with any apocalypse.

I would like to end this piece by writing the saying of Eric Hoffer

When hopes and dreams are loose in the streets, it is well for the timid to lock doors, shutter windows, and lie low until the wrath has passed.
