As we all know exact keywords are the one which is placed in between square brackets [ ]. The targeted audience is very specific in the Exact Match. Consumers have to enter exactly the keyword without disturbing its sequence or its form or its spelling. Due to these restrictions, the users found it difficult to use it. Therefore Google made variations in the rules for Exact match. In 2014, Google relieved some mistakes or we can say mismatching with the keyword. Then after 3 years in 2017, Google also relieved the order of the keyword and also ignored the preposition, conjunctions or any articles.

Changes to be made in the Exact Keyword

In October 2019, Google is planning to reinvent the Exact match by adding the rule of “Close Variants”. By adding this rule, Google is estimating the increase in the reach of exact match keyword approximately 3%. “ Close Variants” refers to all the keywords that share the same meaning as per our Exact keyword.

Let’s Prepare for the New Exact Match Rules:

Before the implementation of new rules in the Exact Match, we should prepare ourself to get more benefit from it.

1. Your best Exact Match Keyword

Keep an eye on your best keywords. And check for its alternate words or close variants like prepositions, spellings, fillers, etc. If your keyword needs any of these changes then go for it.

2. Negative Keyword

Adding Negative Keyword helps you to lose an unnecessary penny for the audience who are not looking for you. So it’ll very beneficial to embed negative keywords to your Exact Match.

3. Control over phrase match keyword

You might be afraid of the keywords which can be affected by the addition or subtraction of the functions keywords. But google confirms that Phrase Match Keyword will not be affected by the upcoming changes and will work as same.
