The article discusses Scrum, a framework for managing complex product development, and the importance of its associated components. You’ll find notes and quizzes so you can study Scrum independently and achieve theScrum Master certification via Scrum.org.

The Scrum framework, which has been used for complex product development since the early 90s, was created by Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland. It is founded on the empirical process control theory, which emphasizes making decisions based on experience and knowledge. Scrum consists of Scrum teams, their associated roles, events, artifacts, and rules, with each component serving a specific purpose that is essential to Scrum’s success.

Scrum’s artifacts include the product backlog, sprint backlog, and increment, while its events include sprint planning, daily scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.

The Scrum team includes the product owner, development team, and Scrum master, with each having a specific role in delivering a potentially useful version of the product.
