Dionysis Svoronos wrote about the Theory of Constraints. The Theory of Constraints (TOC) is a management philosophy created by Dr. Eliyahu Goldratt that focuses on identifying and addressing the most significant constraint that impedes goal achievement.

In project management, constraints such as resource limitations, budget constraints, or technological challenges can slow progress. TOC offers a structured approach to improve project efficiency:

✅Identify the Constraint: Pinpoint the primary limitation hindering project progress.

✅Exploit the Constraint: Make the most of resources related to the constraint.

✅Subordinate Other Processes: Align other processes to support the constraint.

✅Elevate the Constraint: Invest in improving the constraint if needed.

TOC is more than just removing obstacles; it’s about transforming constraints into opportunities for innovation and growth. By embracing constraints and applying TOC principles, project managers can lead more successful and fulfilling projects, allowing constraints to guide them toward excellence.
