Week 17: A New Start

On 23rd May, our team finally rolled out and got back onto the working track. From the spring semester we learned a number of things and were excited to implement them to ensure success in Summer. We aimed to address several things in order to learn from the last Semester and cooperate better in Spring.

Discussion about the discussions

With so many days off, we had to quickly get everything back in order. There are many things left that need to be done soon. For example, the reconfiguration of the roles based on academic goals and experiences from spring previous experience in the last semester,The document package that needs to be sent to the client and The planning of the weekly standard meetings due to the frequent traveling of all teammates (yeah, we are graduating).

A lovely retrospective

Although we went through ups and downs, joy and hate and success and failures in the last semester, we are still very thankful for everyone’s contribution. :) Mika’s great introduction & book’s typography, Kanika’s dedication towards the presentation, Rob’s great work on the website and management, Shipra’s awesome work on organizing the book content, Tab’s amazing impro on presentation and visual design and the fantastic helps from all our faculty advisors. Really couldn’t have done it without you guys. Please give them a great clap!

Get back with our client

For summerIn this semester, our point of contact changed. We are really grateful towards the previous contact person really helped us get the project off the ground who helped a great lot for our project, and we are also very excited towards the new person! For the first connect in this semester, we discussed about the possible directions in the next 3 months and the deliverables that can satisfy both PNC’s goals and our academic goals. The great news was that our client would try their best to find us the real users who we can do the contextual inquiry(user observation).

Hello again, advisors :)

We couldn’t wait to see our lovely faculties, Stephanie and Karen, again. During the meeting, we set up the goals and general schedules for this semester. Also, we retrospected on the things we didn’t do well in the last semester, so we could stop failing in the same pitfall.

Week 18: Rolling of the design engine

During the second week of the Summer, the design engine finally started. We began to narrow down to specific design directions, which can shed lights on our concrete interaction design. So each of us went out to design an ideal P2P(Procure-to-Pay) solution with at least one WOW feature.

The design sprint

The sprint section was productive, we gathered many new insights such as integration with emails, smart automatic and learning systems, customized flows of approval, gamification of invoice to payment, and helpful assistance of notification.

Discussing Ideas

Cowork & Codesign

We presented all of our ideas first, then prioritized all the ideas in 3 different levels. Then we arranged our teammates to cowork in 3 designs and also design individually in those 3 designs.

Mika is presenting her P2P Wow Idea

The cowork section went out really well! We will have another major iteration on next Monday.

Hopefully, we can come up with concrete new designs! :)
