Today the Celo Foundation announced fifty founding members of the Celo Alliance for Prosperity, with the goal of bringing organizations together to help make digital assets more accessible and useful in the real world. The Alliance believes that blockchain technology can bring global financial inclusion and a shot at prosperity for the 1.7 billion people worldwide currently without access to banks, credit, and investment vehicles.

Pngme’s Role

Pngme will play a critical role in the Alliance for Prosperity by providing a user-permissioned financial data layer for financial institutions in emerging markets through a single API. Providing a Credit Karma-like user experience, Pngme aggregates traditional and alternative financial data into a holistic profile which can be used for identity verification, anti-fraud, and alternative credit scoring models. Pngme’s user profile data is hashed and notarized onto multiple blockchains to ensure veracity and create an immutable audit trail of a user’s financial profile.

Pngme’s Mission

Pngme is on a mission to increase financial inclusion and access to affordable credit for the underserved 2.5 billion consumers and 200 million Micro, Small, and Medium Sized Enterprises globally. Pngme’s API-driven data layer enables lenders and financial institutions to offer affordable credit that will, in turn, close the $5.2 trillion finance gap. With other members of the Alliance, our goal to bring the world’s financially excluded population into the banking ecosystem is now more achievable than ever before.
