The Monkey Mind
A Poem by Ajit Mishra
A dense forest of emotions, n’ my monkey roams,
Sizzling desires, like wildfires, it hurls and foams.
Fizzling distractions, the mind’s cunning game,
Trickeries and whims, it craves fortune & fame.
Drizzling illusions, in a dance of disguise,
Lust, greed, abundance, and their sweet lies.
Yet in the heart’s chambers, a whispering plea,
For control and peace, a soul’s destiny.
In self-reflections mirror, I finally find the key,
To tame the mind’s chaos, set the spirit free.
With introspection’s lens, I now see it clear,
The eureka of awakening, Mesmerizes the seer.
In mindfulness’ embrace, the storm does wane,
Meditation’s balm, a tranquilizing reign.
As the monkey mind surrenders its strife,
To unveil the truth, the essence of life.
Through my poet’s pen, this tale unfurls,
Of my monkey mind, and its spirited…
